The more interpretations we gather, the easier it becomes to gain a sense of the whole.” - Margaret J. Wheatley *CALL TO WORSHIP One: We gather together in the name of Jesus Christ, All: Members of God’s family, and siblings to one another. One: There are no outsiders here among us. No one has any special standing. All: We are all children of God, brought together by the redeeming love of Christ. One: Praise the Lord. All: The Lord’s name be praised. *HYMN 511 Come, Behold! Too often we assume it is our job to make distinctions and to decide who is and who is not worthy of your love, your grace and your mercy. Instead of judgment, increase in us a desire to gather with others, to work for wholeness, and justice, and peace for all, we pray through Christ our Lord. SERMON Why Gather? Rev. Sarah Are

*AFFIRMATION OF FAITH Wherever the church exists, its members are both gathered in corporate life and dispersed in society for the sake of mission in the world. The church gathers to praise God, to hear God’s word for humankind, to baptize and to join in the Lord’s Supper, to pray for and present the world to God in worship, to enjoy fellowship, to receive instruction, strength, and comfort, to order and organize its own corporate life, to be tested, renewed and reformed, and to speak and act in the world’s affairs as may be appropriate to the needs of the time. OFFERTORY Let Us Break Bread Together (8:15 a.m.) arr. Richard Walter Josefina Maldonado

Draw Us in the Spirit’s Tether (9:30 & 11 a.m.) Harold Friedell The Sanctuary Choir
