Laplandmulti-daytoursTHE LODGE: The Lodge provides a taste of luxury in the wild and has almost everything you would expect from modernaccommodation.Thekitchenhaseverythingfrompotsandpanstocutlery,washingliquidandtea-towels.Inthekitchenthereisakettleandpercolatorcoffeemakerwithtea/coffee/hotchocolate,milkandcookiesprovided.Inthebathrooms,thereissoapforwashinghandsbutpleasebringshowertoiletrieslikeshowergelandshampoo.Ahairdryerisprovided.Weprovideallbedlinens,blanketsandtowels.OurLodgeisawildernessretreatandwedonotprovideinternetaccessortelevision.However,theareahas4Gmobilereceptionsoyoucanconnectyourdevicestoyourownmobilenetworkfromhomeifyouwish.SAUNA:Weprovidetowelsforthesauna.Thesecanbeusedinsidethesauna,orifyouaresharingthesaunainamixedgroup,wesuggestbringingaswimmingcostume.ARCTICOUTERWEAR: Forallofourguests,weprovideafullsetofarcticouterwear, includingan insulated jacket,trousers,boots(ratedfromminus40tominus70degreesCelsius)andbigmittstowearoveryourownthingloves.Mostguestsprefertobringtheirownwoollyhatandneckwarmerbutwecanalsoprovidethese.Arctictemperaturescanrangefromaverypleasant-6degreesCtoabone-chilling-40degreesCbutyoucanexpectaveragedaytimetemperaturestobearound-25degreesC(December/January),-15degreesC(February)or-10degreesC(March).Theweathercanbechangeable,soitisbesttobepreparedfortheextremecolddressinginlayersthatareeasilytakenonandoffdepending on theweather. KitListDOGSLEDDINGACTIVITY:Ifyouareenjoyingour‘sitdown’dogsleddingactivity(suchasForestEscape,AuroraHunt,oradogsleddingdaytour)youonlyneedtobringyourowngloves,hatandacamera!Ifyouaretakingalongermulti-daydogsleddingtourwithus,wesuggestthefollowingasaguideonwhattobring:Wool is yourbest friend in theArctic. Cottonwill cool you further if it getswet sopleaseavoid it (other than if youwantachangeofclothingatnight).Formulti-daytoursyoumustbring(required)–

• Amediumsizedholdallorrucksacktocarryyourpersonalbelongings.Yourbagwillbeplacedinthesledbag,whichisfairly narrow, so yourbagwill need tobe soft and ‘squashable’. Yourbag shouldbewater-proofed.A regular blackplastic(rubbish)baginsidewillensureyourbelongingsstaydryevenifsnowgetsinthesledbag.

• Long (preferablywoollen) thermalunderwear,both topandbottoms, towearunder theArctic suitprovided.Fleecetracksuitbottomsandwarm,longsleevedtoparegoodalternatives.

• Thicksocksforwearingwhilstsledding–again,woolorawoolmixisbest–plusasparepair.

• Onepairofwarmgloves.Wewillprovideover-mitts.

• Headlamp/torchandsparebatteries(essentialinDec/Jan).

• InFeb/Mar/Apr,sunglasseswithgoodUVprotection(preferablythewrap-aroundstyle)arerequired.InDec/Jan,thesearenotrequired.Instead,itisoptionaltobringclearlensgoggles.

• Ifyourtourhasanovernightstayinawildernesscabinthenasleepingbaglinerisoptionalbutrecommended.Sleepingbagsareusuallyprovidedattheovernightcabinsbutyouarewelcometobringyourown.

• Aplasticwaterbottlefortheevenings(optional).Regularmineralwaterbottlesarefine.Youwillnothaveaccesstopoweratthecabinsandmobilephonesignalispatchy.Itissafertoassumeyouwillnothaveaccesstopowerormobilephonesonceonthesled.

SNOWMOBILEANDOTHERACTIVITIES:Allspecialistequipmentisprovided,suchassnowmobilehelmetsandwarmouterwear.

Ifyouwouldliketodriveyourownsnowmobile,youwillneedtobringyourDriversLicencewithyou.Pleasenote,youwillbeaskedtosignaWaiverformagreeingtopayamaximumof8000sekinsuranceexcessintheeventofanaccident.
