REPROCESSED SURGICAL DEVICES Product Summary: Product Availability: Reprocessed laparoscopic devices are distributed to customers in case quantities similar to those of the original manufacturers, and packaged in chipboard dispenser boxes in quantities of six. Reprocessed suture passers are packaged in chipboard dispenser boxes in quantities of five and include three components: suture passer, 5mm suture passer guide and 12mm suture passer guide. Decontamination and Cleaning: Once insulation is removed, laparoscopic devices are rinsed, soaked, brushed, and sonicated in enzymatic detergent to remove contaminants. Inner lumens of devices are flushed with cleaning solution. Tips on devices with electro-cautery properties are pressure washed to restore original appearance. PRODUCT INFORMATION

PERFORMANCE TESTING

SHARPENING

PACKAGING

Performance Testing: All reprocessed laparoscopic devices are tested for

smooth shearing action. New insulation is applied to laparoscopic devices

with electro-cautery properties. Devices with electro-cautery properties

are subjected to dielectric strength testing to ensure integrity of the

insulation. Plungers of reprocessed suture passers are actuated to confirm

smoothness of the action.

Visual Inspection and Sharpening: After a unique identification bar code

is applied, all devices are visually inspected under magnification for

scratches, cracks and any other damage. Laparoscopic scissors are

sharpened and realigned using proprietary equipment.

Packaging: Reprocessed laparoscopic devices are protected in rigid plastic

trays with Tyvek® lids, and sealed with validated equipment.

Sterilization: Ethylene oxide sterilization is validated as per ANSI/AAMI/

ISO 11135 to a sterility assurance level of 10-6. Ethylene oxide residuals

do not exceed maximum allowable limits of ANSI/AAMI/ISO 10993-7.
