Volunteer Today! Voyageurs We need the help of every Voyageur that can come and assist with the 40 et 8 booth for a few hours on each of those days. We will have a booth by the Vietnam Moving Wall. The Wall was paid for by the Grande and Jim Chapin. More on this in a few days.
FROM THE CORRESPONDANT Just received the News and Views Newsletter from La Crosse County Voiture Locale No. 830
and they are planning on a White Collar Wreck also on October 26th. CRAP! Well I’m sure not
going to make two in one day with Langlade County having one in Antigo also on the 26th. “OK”
guess we need to look on the bright side and that is better to have more than not enough.
There is going to be a large delegation of Wisconsin Voyageurs traveling to Myrtle Beach in
another week for the 100th Annual National Promenade. Please remember that it is a tradition that
all Voyageurs from Wisconsin are dressed up at the Friday session. A group picture will be taken at
the closing of the Friday session along with Chef de Chemin de Fer Williams. This is also for the
Badger Forty et Eighter magazine. Will also get a group picture of all the Wisconsin Dames along
with National Presidente Cheryl Jamnick.
There was a terrible apartment complex fire in La Crosse a few days ago and fourteen children
are misplaced not to mention they all lost their clothing. Voiture No. 830 has already jumped into
action and through their efforts, the children are now clothed and ready for school in a few days. A
big thank you to Carl Sjolander and the other Voyageurs for their speedy work on this situation.
And yes they did properly fill out the Charles W. Ardery application form.
If you have an article or picture that you would like published in the next Badger Forty et Eighter,
it needs to be sent to Grande Headquarters immediately. Due to the Labor Day weekend every-
thing had to be there no later than Thursday so it can be proof read over the weekend and then
printed next Tuesday.
