School Photos
School photos are just round the corner. Using information provided by AdvancedLife, there were only 13
group photos (extra-curricular and large groups) ordered last year. Of these six whole school photos were
bought which means that only 7 other photos were bought from a variety of school activities.
In consultation with the P&C and due to the small number of photos ordered and the large disruption to
learning caused by the photo days the school is going to cancel the second photo day, which means that
extra-curricular photographs will not be taken by the photographers. Instead teachers will take photos of
the groups they are running.
The school will still be having the photo day where we have the individual, class, captains, twins and triplets
photos.
Can you help KS?
We are collecting buttons for our class
artwork. If you are able to donate any please
bring them in to the school office.
Thank you!

Short term medical form
If your child requires short term medical treatment at school, please fill in the short term medical form
which can be found under ‘school documents’ on the Skoolbag app. Medication should only ever be
dropped off and picked up from the school office by an adult.
Visitor Toilet
The bathroom for visitors to the school is located next to the school hall. The entrance is to the right of the
hall main doors. The bathroom has wheelchair access.
Arriving late to school
If your child is arriving at school after 9.25am, please accompany them to the office to collect a late slip
which needs to be signed by an adult and given to your child’s teacher . If you need to pick your child up
from school early, please first get an early leaving slip from the office which you then give to the teacher as
you collect you child.
Email issues
A few parents have noticed that emails from the school are being blocked by their email provider,
particularly Hotmail accounts. If you suspect this is happening to you, please look at your account settings
and add [email protected] to your ‘allow’ list.
Alternatively, go to your ‘junk’ folder and if there are any emails from the school:
Right click on the email
Select ‘create rule’
Select ‘inbox’
Assembly Etiquette
We love seeing parents at assembly, but we ask that you follow a few guidelines to assist the school and
school community.
Taking Photos of Students at School Events
While the taking photos of your own child during school events such as assembly or school carnivals is
highly encouraged, it is important to remember that some parents have acknowledged non-consent for
their child to be photographed or published in our school setting. Please be mindful of this when taking
photos and also before uploading photos of your child to social media, especially if other children can be
seen or are identifiable in the background.
Phone Use-Please do not make and receive calls during the assembly. Either turn your phone off or have it
on silent.
Seating-Please do not sit in the seats placed down the side of the hall, these are reserved for staff.

Anaphylaxis at Lane Cove West Public School
We have a small number of children who could have a potentially life
threatening allergic reaction to nuts.
How can parents help these children?
Choose alternative sandwich spreads to peanut butter and Nutella.
Inform your child that these foods can trigger an anaphylactic
reaction.
Reinforce the school’s NO FOOD SHARING message.
Calling the school
Please use the telephone in case of emergency only. All matters such as reason for absence, change in
routine etc. can be put in writing and sent to the classroom teacher. The best way to communicate with a
teacher or other member of staff is via a note sent with your child or by sending an email to the school
email. Your classroom teacher is the initial point of contact if you have any questions or concerns.
Keep in mind it is not always possible to get a phone message to your child’s class, particularly towards the
end of the day.
Make sure your child knows each morning how they are getting home and what they should do if they
are feeling uncertain.
Dear Parents,
School photographs are scheduled to be taken by advancedlife. Whilst an envelope and flyer will be distributed shortly, if
possible it is our preference that ordering be completed online to reduce administration and potential security issues related
to the return of cash and envelopes on photo day.
Orders for packages and sibling photographs can be placed securely online at www.advancedlife.com.au using our school’s
unique 9 digit advancedorder code. Portrait and group package orders are due by photography day.
Should you wish to purchase a sibling photograph online, the order must be placed no later than the day before photography
day. Sibling photographs will only be taken if an order has been placed.
Should you have any queries concerning school photographs or online ordering, please direct them via email to
Lane Cove West Public School
