Cattle destined for grain finishing face a variety of
challenges that impact on their feedlot performance.
Their health, before entering the feedlot, has a big
bearing on how they handle these challenges.
The importance of pre-entry management to control
the common diseases threatening feeder cattle cannot
be underestimated. It not only means healthier animals
but can help you get a better price come sale time.
That’s why; we at Landmark offer you MaxiStart®, our
feeder cattle health management program.
MaxiStart® is a strategic pre-feedlot conditioning
protocol using vaccination and drench protocols that
enhance grain fed cattle performance.
This ensures that your cattle are in the best possible
health and are sought after by feedlots.
The MaxiStart® program reduces the incidence of:
Clostridial disease with ‘5 in 1’ •(or ’7 in 1’ for heifers)
Bovine Viral Diarrhoea (BVD) or •Pestivirus with Pestigard™
Bovine Respiratory Disease (BRD) with Bovilis• ® MH
Botulism with Botulinum vaccine •e.g. Ultravac Botulinum™, Websters® Botulinum or Singvac® 1 Year Botulinum (if silage is fed during backgrounding)
Internal Parasites with strategic ML drench eg: •Dectomax®,Cydectin®,Eprinex®,Ivomec®,Paramax®
ML = Macrocyclic Lactone group
MaxiStart® is recommended for vendor bred weaners
and store cattle purchased for backgrounding prior to
grain finishing.
