C. INPUT - based on Appendix 1 ( 20 mins.)

De La Salle’s life had always been influenced by people who shaped and formed his faith. This was reflected in his relationship with his grandmother who taught him the lives of the saints, his spiritual directors like Barre and Roland were strong influences in his commitment to form a community for the young, and his determination to pursue the mission was the result of his attitude to view things with the eyes of faith and attribute things for the greater glory of God. The first and principal exercise of DLS and the early Brothers was prayer.

Goal -unity with God-grow in our relationship with God

Benefit -fruits of the Spirit

*Posture in prayer is introduced.

Lasallian educators should have a great love for the

holy exercise of interior prayer. They should look upon it as the first and principal of their daily exercises, the one which is the most capable of drawing down the blessing of God on all the others.

Use this image of nautilus shell to capture the movement of prayer. Prayer leads us to our inner self – that of goodness and allows us to go back outside

to bring this goodness to those we meet.

F. CLOSING PRAYER - 5 mins. of silence

St. John Baptist de La Salle, pray for us.Live Jesus in our hearts forever.
