    LAMELA Plate Separators DF

The Lamela plate separator is a highly effective multistream parallel plate clarifier. The Lamela plate

separator is based on a proven and efficient plate sedimentation technology of removal of

contaminants from municipal and industrial waste waters, widely used for years in water treatment

stations all over the world. The use of the plate sedimentation process has made possible to save

about 90% of the space in comparison with the traditional horizontal sedimentation tank.

The Lamela separator can be delivered as a fully assembled self-contained unit or as the plate

assembly for installation into e.g. concrete tanks.

The plate assembly incorporated in the unit comprises a set of interconnected plates inclined at 55-65

degrees, made of plastic or steel to assure durability and low weight. As standard, the plates are

spaced at 50-80mm one from each other to assure rapid and effective separation of suspended solids

while using only a fraction of the footprint of the traditional sedimentation tanks. At the same time, the separation of suspended matter using plates assures far higher efficiency while

the added lower sedimentation tank allows better dewatering of the sediment.

Selection of type and model is often determined by pilot tests on the investment site.

    Principle of operation:

Wastewater flowing in via inlet connection to the inlet chamber with baffles is separated into several

streams upflowing through the plate assembly. The contaminants which settle on the surface of the

plates, slip by gravity and get compacted in the sediment funnel, with the clean water flowing to the

top and out of the unit. The sediment hopper is periodically emptied, depending on the contamination

of the influent. The unit operates on its own and needs only periodic attention to empty the

    sediments, manually or automatically.

    Advantages:

Footprint up to 90% less as that of traditional horizontal clarifier Lower investment costs, up to 50%

High reliability and operational performance Low operational costs No attention during operation needed No fast wearing parts Unit dimensions and connections positions/sizes modifiable per request.

    Applications:

Primary treatment of potable water Cleaning of industrial waste waters Primary and secondary sediment tank for municipal waste water treatment stations.

    Hydraulic load range:

The hydraulic load rates range from 0.5 to 1.5 m3/m2/h of the nominal sedimentation area.

    Material:

EN 14301 grade stainless steel (standard) acid resistant steel (option) constructional steel with chemical resistant coating (option) flange connections acc. to PN-ISO 7005-1, p = 0.6 MPa

    Versions:

There are three versions of the Lamela separators available which can be delivered as fully assembled

self-contained units; optionally, only the plate assemblies for user installation can be supplied. TheLamela plate separator SLA/SLZ, which can be fitted with the plate assemblies having the total

sedimentation area of 150 m2, provide throughput in excess of 200 m3/h; the Lamela plate separator

SLW can accommodate the plate assemblies of total area even in excess of 1000 m2.

    Lamela Plate Separator versions:

SLW version: the plate assembly for retrofitting in existing sedimentation tanks SLA version: complete unit with sediment hopper SLZ version: complete unit with flocculation tank with mixer and sedimentation tank with sediment scrubber/compactor.
