July 5, 2015 Fourteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time “He was amazed at their lack of faith.”
Have you ever been “amazed” with anything? Without being cynical, have you ever been amazed? Today we are taken by surprise that “He was amazed.” When we think of Jesus as God it seems all the amazement and awe comes from us. What can we possibly do to amaze God when our praise adds noth-ing to His glory? Come to Him and admit that we need Him. We can not live this life alone. We must have the love and guidance of our Heavenly Father. He can not fix what is not broken. He can not free those who are not trapped. If we are not admitting this to ourselves it amazes Jesus. Let us rather be taught humility by Je-sus, He who was broken for us is here to heal us of our short comings, our sins, our greatest fears. We do not have to be all to all for Jesus already is and He wants to be all for you daily.

Alguna vez has estado “sorprendido” con algo? Sin ser sínico, alguna vez has estado sorprendido? Hoy nos toma por sorpresa el hecho de que “Él estaba sorprendido.” Cuando pensamos en Jesús como Dios parece que todo el asombro y temor viene de nosotros. Que podemos hacer para sorprender a Dios cuando nuestra plegaria no añade nada a Su gloria? Ven a Él y admite que lo necesitamos. No podemos vivir esta vida solos. Debemos de tener amor y guía de nuestro Padre Celestial. Él no puede reparar lo que no está roto. Él no puede liberar a esos que no están atrapados. Si no estamos admitiendo esto a nosotros mismos eso sorprende a Jesús. Entonces hay que aprender humildad de parte de Jesús, El que se ha roto por nosotros aquí para sanarnos de nuestros pecados, nuestros más grandes miedos. No debemos ser el todo para todo porque Jesús ya lo es y Él quiere que serlo todo para ti a diario.

Our Diocese is offering: a Liturgical Formation Series
This is a three-part series on the Sacred Liturgy for clergy, lay liturgical leaders and all those interested in the liturgy and will be held on three dates at the Chancery in Tyler: July 11, August 1 and September 12. The presentations are from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and cover sacred music, the rubrics of the Roman Missal and liturgical environment. For costs, details and more informa-tion please come by the church office between 10 and 3 or visit the diocesan website at dioceseoftyler.org
