WAITAKI LAKES CAMPING GROUNDS What you need to know about our Kiwi-style camping facilities Camping season Third Saturday of September until first Sunday of May Camping fees Full season - $400 per site (<2 adults & children under 15 years; non-transferable) Half season - $280 (from the third Saturday in January) First 2 Adults $25/site/night - dependent children 15 years and under are free (ID may be requested) Additional registrations $12.50/adult/night (each adult requires an extra ticket) Passes available from Waitaki District Council, Oamaru, camp supervisors and Kurow Auto Services Boat ramps Fees pay for ramp, carpark and toilet maintenance $5 per day or $60 for season pass Passes available from: Waitaki District Council, Oamaru Westside Cafe & Shop, Otematata Mobil Garage, Omarama Kurow Auto Services Camp supervisors and registration booths Payment options Cash/cheque Credit card Eftpos Contact Council for Internet banking Contact phone numbers Emergencies....................................................................111 Harbourmaster/Environment Canterbury .....0800 324 636 Camp Supervisor ............................................027 686 6901 Rural Fire.........................................................03 434 6400 Dogs Must be on a lead at all times Must not cause nuisance Dog dosing is recommended Speed Speed limit of 10km Watch out for children Noise Minimum levels between 10pm & 7am Campervan dump stations Dump stations for chemical activated portable toilets are identified on the map (see over) and must not be emptied in camp toilets Vegetation Unauthorised vegetation removal is illegal Firearms Firearms are banned from all camping sites Motorbikes Trail bike riding is banned from all camping sites Trespassing Camping at any of these sites without paying the required fee is considered trespassing Fires No open fires Camp site size Not to exceed 60m 2 No camping within 10m of water Registration Must be paid on arrival Tickets are non-refundable Fees are applicable from when a site is claimed No sites to be cordoned prior to setting up camp No reservation of sites on behalf of others We do not have a reciprocal ticket sale arrangement with Waimate District Council, DOC or Ohau C Please provide all requested information www.waitaki.govt.nz t. 03 433 0300 e.
