Charitable

Donors: • Giving to fewer causes • Oldest donors support twice the number of causes as younger ones • Change in personal financial situation cause of changes in giving • Biggest opportunity: regular Donors! – but many charities seem to be “failing” to offer

them a compelling reason to make a more substantial commitment • Direct Mail most common way donors transacted - but is decreasing Social Media: • More people are following charities on SM than ever before • Why? Same reason at profit sector - updates are relevant, timeless and refreshing content,

great images • SM is better at engagement than giving but giving influence is increasing • Website: Donors want evidence-based information quickly and easily. Volunteering: • “to give back” is strongest motivation BUT age is a factor • Younger donors: personal and work experience, older: charities reputation and opinions
