Prom & Banquet While last summer is still fresh in our minds, this is the time of the year when we take a close look at how we performed during the summer. This self-assessment includes a review of camp policies, activities, staff, food service, and every- thing in between. In addition, we seek the opinions of our campers, staff members, and parents. The goal is to make camp better. As a result of our internal review and the input we receive, each year changes are made to the camp. Our first change for summer 2020 involves how we decide the themes of the camp’s two proms. In the past, campers learned, with little input, what the prom theme was going to be when it was announced at flagpole. Now campers will decide. They will choose from a list of four potential themes and vote for the one they like best. Here are your choices: Mid-Summer Prom & Banquet (July 23rd) a. Masquerade b. Beach Party c. Starry, Starry Night d. Enchanted Forest End of Summer Prom & Banquet (August 18th) a. Welcome to Hollywood b. Winter Wonderland c. Secret Garden d. Under the Sea Our online poll will be hosted on the camp’s Instagram page where campers will be able to vote. Voting for each prom theme will be conducted separately and will remain open for a period of one week. The online poll will go live in Novem- ber. For now, consider the choices above, keep your eyes peeled for the official announcement and instructions, and remember you may only vote once, so choose wisely! WOW that was fast! Where did the summer go? Even though camp went by so quickly, we still had an amazing summer! It really comes as no surprise, after all, each day was filled with outrageously fun events, awesome off-camp trips, and incredible activities. Now that camp has come to an end, there is little time to reminisce about the things we did and the fun we had. For the next 10 months our efforts will be focused on preparing for summer 2020. There are schedules to make, staff to be hired, improvements to be made, and much more. While we may not be as busy as we are during camp, it’s close. So, September has turned into October and by the end of the month many of the leaves that provided a colorful landscape will have fallen to the ground. It is the month that ushers out the last remnants of summer and welcomes in autumn. We’re not yet ready for this change and perfer to cling onto summer for as long as possible. Thankfully, working on the many different projects as we prepare for next summer, actually makes it easy. Do You Remember... We certainly had an active program calendar this summer. Each day was so busy that it is difficult to remember all the things we did. To help, we have highlighted below some of the events we shared this past summer. 10th Year AwardCampers and staff members who have attended Lake Greeley Camp for five years are given the much-celebrated 5-year jacket. This jacket is a gift that recognizes their loy-alty and love for the camp. There, however, has been no further recognition for those campers and staff members who continue their Lake Greeley Camp experience beyond five years, until now.

We are excited to announce that we have expanded our loyalty recognition program to include a gift for our 10th year campers and staff members. So the burning question is, what’s the gift? Deciding has proven to be a challenge. Campers have suggested a new car, concert tickets, and even a ride in the camp’s jet (LGC does not own a jet). While these suggestions were enlightening, we came up with a more practical idea, a soft and cozy blanket that will provide years of warmth and comfort.

As with the 5-year jacket, the 10-year blanket cannot be purchased. It is only available to those camper and staff members who achieve these milestones.
