Invoices for the 2015 HOA assessments went out via
mail Oct. 24th. Our management company (CCM) put
an incorrect due date DECEMBER 15TH (normally the
date is the end of November). The Board has decided
to leave the due date as is on the invoice for this year
only. In 2015, it will default back to the end of Novem-
ber.
Make sure you send the coupon at the bottom of the
invoice that includes the following mailing address:

Hello Lake Forest Neighbors!
We hope everyone is having a wonderful year. Fall is a
much welcomed change after a long, hot summer with its
brilliant colors, crisp air, and the anticipation of the
holidays!
Our annual meeting was held last month. It was fun to meet
some of our new homeowners and catch-up with friends.
Thanks to all who attended and to those who took the time
to drop off their proxy.
2015 HOA Board Members
Returning: Bryan Urquhart, Rose Cassidy, Sandra
Smallwood, Rochelle Nalls and Millie Berdan
Welcoming Back: Lin Prince who has been on the board for
several years in the past.
We say goodbye to Carl Vieira who served on the board for
the last two years. Congratulations to Carl and his wife
Kerri as they are expecting their first child. Current officers
will serve out the year and the 2015 board positions will be
elected at our next meeting. We will send out an email
notification to everyone and update our website at that
time.
Other news is assessments will remain at $100 for the
calendar year 2015. Dumpster Day was a hit with the
community and owners would like to see this service
continued. We will review our budget at the beginning of
the new year and hope to schedule it again in late spring.
We thank you for your support and the HOA Board is
committed to make Lake Forest a community to be proud
of.

LAKE FOREST NEWS NOVEMBER 2014
NOT ON OUR EMAIL LIST! Please take a minute to send us your current email address. We send email blasts on upcoming events, lost pets, and any criminal activity. Note Lake Forest had 2 car break-ins a few months ago. Also we sent out an alert when our neighbors in Spring Ridge had 3 homes that were invaded. This is all the more reason to send us your email so you will be connected to what’s going on in the neighborhood.

IMPORTANT ASSESSMENT
INFORMATION
“CCM will be mailing out the collection policy. Be advised that non-payment can result in late fees, interest, liens, legal fees, collections, and other legal actions. A $100 assessment can quickly turn into several hundred dollars if late.”
LAKE FOREST NEWS
TIPS FOR WALKING AT NIGHT
Follow these general precautions and please BE SAFE!
Be Seen - wear brightly colored or reflective clothing
Wear a headlight or bring a flashlight
Always walk facing the direction of on-
coming traffic
Don't assume oncoming drivers see you
or understand that you have a right to use the
road as well, walk defensively.
Stay alert by NOT using iPods or other
devises while walking
Keep your eyes up and an ear out for oncoming vehicles
from either direction and yield to them. People texting and driving
is a major problem and pose a real danger to your safety.
DANGEROUS DRIVING!
Speeding in Lake Forest is a constant reoccurring complaint
along with people running through stop signs, taking curves
while driving halfway on the side of oncoming traffic, and
tailgating. A parent told me they would not let their kids wait
for the bus at the intersection of LF Way and LF Circle be-
cause some people run through the stop sign and do not
come to a full stop!
These driving behaviors put our families and the com-
munity in danger.
Speeders, tailgaters,
stop-sign runners, driv-
ers on the wrong side of
the road—BEWARE!
When you least expect
it, our local police may
be right behind you!
REPORTING A STREETLIGHT
OUTAGE
Streetlights are important for our safety and give
people who like to walk at night added visibility.
If you have a light out near your home, please
contact Sawnee and they will replace it “free of charge.”

KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN!
The Roswell Police Depart-ment are routinely asked, "How do I know if something is suspicious?" Much of it comes down to your gut-instinct. You know your neighborhood better than anyone, and you know if something doesn't seem right. This is certainly not an exhaus-tive list, but they are some things to look for. Always take into consideration the totality of the circumstances, since one particular person or activity alone may not be unusual but as you put the pieces together, you may find that something is just not right.
A stranger entering a house when it is unoccupied or walking around the sides or backs of houses.
Anyone peering into parked cars or pulling on door handles.
Apparent business transactions conducted from a vehicle.
Strange vehicles consistently visiting a house or area to meet people.
Any vehicle parked strangely, or driving around with no obvi-ous purpose or direction.
Occupied vehicles parked at unusual hours, perhaps at the end of a street.
Vehicles being loaded with valuables or bags at an unoccu-pied house.
Someone going door-to-door who tests the door to see if it is locked.
LANDSCAPE UPDATES
We recently added encore-blooming, red Azaleas to the island
along with Blue Cascade Distyllium shrubs in front of the sign.
The annual purple pansies and kale are started to fill in and
hopefully will provide us with beautiful color through the winter.
We hope to get the left side of our property (along Old Ala-
bama) trimmed and racked before the end of the year. Thanks
again to the volunteers who helped during the early summer on
the right side as it looks great.
Once the leaves finish dropping, fresh pine-straw will be in-
stalled to the island and sides of the entrance. And of course,
we will be putting-up holiday decorations after Thanksgiving for
everyone to enjoy!
The Lake Forest Community Facebook page is under-
going changes at this time. Once completed, we will
send out an email blast with information and the link.
FRIGHTFUL HALLOWEEN FUN!
These homes really went all-out to provide some “spooky fun” for our neighborhood. Many Thanks to:
Tony & Jessica Germano
Ken & Lisa Lyda
Virginia Lord’s home (bottom 2 pics) is as fun inside as out!
BOO!
