The school provides extra support for those students who do not complete the minimum standards. It is important that students attend school on days when these tests are scheduled as there are only set times when they can be administered. This is a timely reminder that Year 11 students will start their Preliminary course exams next week. Congratulations to Jayden Loxley who submitted his Major Design Project for Metals and Engineering last week. Jayden built a custom canopy for his 100 series Toyota utility. Jayden’s aim was to create secure and weather proof storage that would also match the tray he had already built. The final product is of a very high standard and displays excellent metal fabrication skills. Jayden conducted significant research and solved numerous problems as part of this experience. Jayden presented a forty-three page management report documenting the entire process from initial idea through to final evaluation.

PBL news

This week we are focussing on electronic devices at school. We are allowed to bring our own devices but we shouldn’t have them out in class if we are not using them to learn. Your teacher might ask you to use your device for learning, but if they have not asked you, you should have your device in your bag or pocket and out of sight. This will help with your focus in class. Phones and iPods should be away so you can concentrate on the learning tasks in your subjects, this will increase your achievement! Being responsible for your learning is a value at LCCS, so keep your phone away to demonstrate this and earn Besties!
