Note from the Principal
Hello Community Members,
The first week back at school is always exciting for everyone. This
year is no exception as there are a lot of new things happening.
Each classroom is in a new room, with two new teachers—Mrs.
Begrand (K/1/2) and Mrs. Fong (3/4/5). As the principal I too have a
new office space (closer to the gym and attached to my classroom).
Mrs. Jalbert is a new administrative assistant (working MTW).
Mrs. Jalbert and Ms. Dahl are now located in the old principal’s
office. The library now is a full-library!
Prairie Spirit School Division has a new ‘Safe and Secure’ policy
which will restrict unauthorized access to the school. The north
entrance doors will be open in the morning when students arrive,
but locked at 9:00am. If students are late they will need to use the
main entrance doors. Parents please use the main entrance and
check in at the administrative assistant’s office.
Communication is important between home and school. Each
student has a day planner that will be used for notes home. Please
take some time and read through the first section of the day
planners as it has some important school information. Email,
newsletters, and the school sign will be used to communicate
activities.
I look forward to a great year!

SEPT 25 - NO CLASSES DUE TO TEACHER PREPARATION AND PROFESSIONAL
DEVELOPMENT DAY
Cross country running
practices have started at
Laird School. There are two
upcoming meets in Prairie
Spirit School Division that
athletes can participate in. The
first is in Langham on Monday,
September 21 and the second
meet is in Delisle on Wenesday,
October 7.
This year, the practices will
focus on athletes building
endurance and pacing
themselves through long
distance runs. Practices will
run during some lunch hours
during the school day and
Tuesdays and Thursdays after
school until
5:00 pm.
Students and guests are asked to not
use strong scents (perfumes, colognes,
sprays) to ensure the health of those
who are bothered by these.
Scent Aware Policy
thank you
The Grade 3/4/5 class will be going on a field trip to the Western Development Museum in Saskatoon and also to the Museum of Wheat in Hepburn on September 24th. The students will be outside for a good part of the day on this trip, so please ensure they are dressed for the weather. Watch for more details as the date approaches.
