Ladies and gentelmen, I have the great honour of beeing your

guide today. My name is Archibad, and

I am the last living dodo. In fact, I am the ghost, because I died

I was the flightless bird endemic to the Indian Ocean island of

Mauritius. My species was first mentioned by Dutch sailors in 1598. By 1681, all dodos had

been killed by hungry sailors or their domesticated animals. In

England, they often say ‘dead as dodo’.

Today I will tell you how to protect the Earth. You can not

let species like pandas and siberian tigers die. This planet is

your home, and in the whole universe there is not better place for you. I am going to

show you project made by group of young ladies. The project calls

NO MORE DODOS

Is it possible?

The young ladies prepared a weather forecast for you. It is the weather for a day in the

future. Let’s take a look.

It wasn’t optimistic, isn’t it?

I will show you 30 simple ways to make our live better, to make our planet healthier to foil the disaster.

Turn off the lights when they are not

needed.

Use solar power.

Use energy-efficient light bulbs.

Use reusable bags and boxes instead of plastic bags.

Separate your garbage and recycle.

Walk instead of driving.

Use public transport if you can.

Ride a bike instead of driving.

Walk up the stairs instead of using the

elevator (it will make you healthy too).

Avoid long showers.

Hang your clothes outside to dry instead of using a

dryer.

Use your washing machine only when you have a full

load.

Have a compost bin and put your organic waste in it.

Try to fix things before buying new ones.

Use your dishwasher only when you have a full load.

Recycle your clothes. Donate them or use their fabric to make something else. The

more you use, the less everyone needs to produce.

Buy products with less wrapping and

packaging.

Find out natural alternatives for chemical

cleaners.

Turn off taps and make sure they do not leak.

Do not print things you do not have to. Learn to adjust your computer applications to make text easy to

read.

Use recycled paper.

Print on both sides of the page if possible.

Use emails as much as you can to save

printing.

Pay your bills online (and choose to receive email statements) to save

tons of paper waste.

Find ways to save water in your shower, toilet, garden

and sink.

Wash your car on the grass.

When you mow your lawn, use the cuttings for

compost.

Borrow equipment from people to avoid buying something you rarely

use.

Avoid using disposable plates, cups and cutlery.

Plant trees in your yard and community.

I have for you eight sentences which you should learn by heart.

Burn calories, not oil

Earth allows you to stand. Let it stand the way it is.

Global warming is not cool.

Listen the voice of nature.

Clean Coal Is Just Dirty Business

Respect your Elders (and Oaks, Pines and Hickorys too)

The thing that burns never returns

There is no Planet B.
