Lac Tranquille at Capernwray Bible School, Chertsey Quebec
WELCOME TO BETH ARIEL’S MESSIANIC SUMMER CAMP
July 13-20th, 2019
We are very excited to inaugurate our first Beth Ariel Messianic Summer Camp in the beautiful region of Rawdon, Quebec. We will
be lodging at Capernwray Bible School, located in Chertsey Quebec, around 1 hour and 15 minutes from Montreal and about 1
hour and 15 minutes from Mount Tremblant. On these beautiful grounds we can take advantage of canoeing or kayaking on their
own private lake, Lake Tranquille. There is a swimming pool where we can refresh ourselves. Other recreational facilities include an
open field for softball, soccer or football. There is also a beach volleyball court.
Lodging and Meals: There are fully equipped dormitory-style chalets which can house from two to six persons per room. There are
shared bathroom and shower facilities. All bedding is included. Please bring your own towels and toiletries.
Home cooked meals are served family style.
All are welcome to attend, including singles, couples and families.
Families: We would like to encourage families to consider this opportunity, as we will have activities planned for children ranging in
age between 2-18 years old. We will have three groups: 2-5 year olds (nursery), 6-11 (middlers) and 12-18 (teens). Their classes will
be bilingual. The children will be in class for the first two and the last hour of the day (3 hours in total). During the rest of the day
parents will take responsibility for their children.
Adult Classes
Adult classes and workshops: Classes are mandatory as they reflect the main purpose of this Camp - the study of the Word of God.
Workshops are optional. It is designed to provide more information about the tools we may use for the study of Scripture and to
allow artistic expressions of our faith to flourish in our midst.
The Law in Deuteronomy with Pastor J. Isaac Gabizon (seven hours)
The Book of Deuteronomy brings us right to the core of the Mosaic Law where we discover the love and the grace on which it
stands. There we can finally understand where David found his appreciation of this law when he said, “How I love your Torah, it is
my meditation all the day (Psm.119:97). Our journey in Devarim (Hebrew for the book of Deuteronomy), will bring us to delve into
the goodness and patience of our God who is always there to protect His people. These things happened to them as examples, and
they were written for our admonition (1Cor. 10:11a). There will be a handout for this class.
Jewish Evangelism with Pastor J. Isaac Gabizon (four hours)
This class will highlight the history of Israel from Genesis to Revelation. Among the subjects covered are: an historical overview of the Bible, a summary of prophecies dealing with the end times, and a practical understanding of the Jewish people. It is crucial that the believer acquire a right and biblical understanding of Israel past, present and future. A handout will be used for this study.
Law of Messiah, Theology and Application with Simon Sloutsker (three hours)
While we are no longer under the Law of Moses, the essence of this law is contained in the Law of Messiah. What does it mean to
walk in the Spirit day by day? How can we obtain spiritual victories and therefore fulfill the Law of Messiah as it is written in
Galatians 6:2, “Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.”?
Workshops:
Tools and Methods in Bible Interpretation with Pastor J. Isaac Gabizon (two hours)
This workshop is designed to familiarize us with the original languages of the Bible (Hebrew, Aramaic & Greek) as well as with
major Bible themes. We will get to know the tools which are readily available to us in order to look into the meaning and the root
of any given word. Among these tools are: a concordance, an interlinear of English/Greek/Hebrew Bibles, a Bible dictionary, and
different scholarly commentaries.
Music for God’s Glory with Simon Sloutsker (four hours)
This workshop will have theoretical and practical aspects. Music theory has much in common with the Bible. How can we see God’s
triune nature expressed in music harmony? On the practical level, we will see how to compose songs for God’s glory using simple
harmony. Ensemble playing and singing are also in view. This class is open to adults and teens. Musical training is not required.
Messianic Dance with Pauline Sloutsker (four hours)
Worship of Adonai can be expressed in many ways. One of those is dancing. Learning the steps and movements is like opening the
door to a great expression of collective adoration.
Adult classes will be taught in English with simultaneous translation into French via headphones. There will be praise and worship
before classes with songs in Hebrew, English and French. We will also have opportunity for camp fires, weather permitting. We are
planning a special evening called “Talent Night” when we will have the opportunity to share in song, dance, story telling ,
testimonies etc. according to what the Lord puts on our heart. On Friday night July 19th, we will have a Shabbat dinner
accompanied by music and testimonies. If you are not available for the whole week or the week-end of July 13-20, you can still
come to visit us for the day.
