spa, and the facilities at the Château

de la Durantie will be some of the

very best in the south of France.

Surrounded by trees and flowers

and the winding pathways of the

Château’s lush gardens, the spa

offers the chance to ease away

the stresses and strains of life in

luxurious treatment rooms, on

peaceful terraces or in the indoor

pool. Detox in the ‘mud house’,

the dry ‘Laconium’ sauna, steam

room or ‘Kneipp path’, or revitalise

and tone in the state-of-the-art

‘techno’ gym or in an exercise class.

Trained professionals will be on

hand to help you get the most out

of your workouts - and when you’re

finished, you can cool down under

the Rainforest shower and treat

yourself to a healthy salad and fruit

shake at the spa’s ‘Health Bar’. From

there, you can squeeze in a quick

beauty treatment, or simply unwind

The Bistrot and Bar can be found

on the lower ground floor of the

château, with a large outdoor

terrace overlooking the pool and

gardens. Here, some of the best and

most inventive local chefs will be

concocting mouth-watering menus

with the freshest of ingredients. In

fact, so seriously do we take cuisine

at the Château de la Durantie that

we’re fulfilling our dream of a formal

‘Jardin Potager’, a vegetable garden

within the grounds that will provide

our kitchens with a steady stream

of the freshest vegetables, fruit and

herbs. The gardening team will liaise

daily with our chefs - to inform

them of what is at its freshest on any

given day. The result promises to be

magical - traditional recipes with a

modern twist, including succulent

duck with prunes, boar flavoured

with wild blueberries, freshly caught

trout, and intricate pastries and

desserts - all, of course, accompanied

by our pick of the finest wines from

France and beyond.

The elegant Belle Epoque salons

and terraces of the château are

to be transformed in to the social

heart of the development - the

Durantie Country Club. Owners and

their guests will congregate here

throughout the year to share meals,

attend courses and events, swap

tips and advice, and relax in a

friendly, social atmosphere. The Club

will be, in many ways, a ‘jumping

off point’ to life in the wider local

community - a friendly ‘hub’ in

which to meet others in the area.

You’ll find tennis and croquet,

beach volleyball and a pitch & putt

The Chateau de le Durantie sits in the

heart of one of France’s most beautiful

and dynamic regions - the south

west of France. Warm, lush and criss-

crossed by rivers, the ‘département‘

of the Tarn is one of France’s most

beautiful, a traditional wine-growing

area far from the ‘bling’ and crush of

the coasts, where you can spend the

day strolling the cobbled streets of

Albi, walk for hours across sumptuous

landscapes or canoe down dramatic

gorges. Should you develop the urge

for some city life, Toulouse is only

50 minutes drive from the château.

Named ‘La Ville Rose’ thanks to the

warm brick of its elegant 18th century

townhouses and palaces, Toulouse is

the fourth largest city in France. It’s

abuzz with smart eateries, quirky cafés,

well-funded museums, galleries and

concert halls, and of course streets

teeming with chic boutiques.

events; some of France’s best cuisine;

and wines from France’s second oldest

wine-growing area - ‘Gaillac’, famed for

its delicious reds. The Château lies only

a stone’s throw from the pretty bastide

village of Castelnau de Montmiral,

with its stone buildings (some dating

back to the 12th century) and mosaic

of terracotta roofs. The village offers

plenty of little shops, bakeries,

impressive medieval square framed by

gothic arches.

Within a few hours’ drive of Durantie

lie the sun-drenched beaches of the

Mediterranean, superb skiing and

walking in the Pyrénées and the

charms of the Bordeaux wine region.

Six international airports within easy

driving distance, superb TGV train

connections and excellent motorways

mean getting to and from the area

is surprisingly easy. So you, or your

friends, can pop down for a weekend

of sunshine and superb cuisine very

quickly and inexpensively.
