The Exposition

The Exposition shows off the three different characters, each in a different light. The first is a straight laced police man who appears to be highly rewarded for his work. The second is seen saying he’ll do anything to get ‘Justice’ even if its against the law. The third looks very self confident in his ability and this is shown by the low angle camera shot.

The white screen transition is frequently used in the trailer to show the separation of each of the characters and also to increase the tension.

Rising Action Explained1&2) A rise in the level of violence is shown through mise-en-scene with bullets being shot through glass and a man in a bullet proof vest running away. 3) The long shot of the police car shows that this crime is not a petty one and is involving mass police resources. This shows that something big has happen and that its leading up to something such as an arrest or hunt for the criminal.4,5&6) These short takes combined with a white flash transition shows increases the tension whilst showing the story line.7,8,9&10) This shots combined with the voice over show that they are having to pool their resources, this hypes up their upcoming problem as its shown as being something they’ve never done before.11&12) Reminds the audience of the violence and the severity of the situation.

Fade to whites are a frequent transitions used in this trailer, they’re always

matched with the sound of a gun being fired.

The Complication“There’s

The non-diegetic music suddenly changes to a different tone, more sombre and dramatic.

“How about some pay

back big time”

“We need evidence!”

By highlighting that it’s from a book it attracts a wider range of audience as it entices fans of the

book to go and see the film.

The Climax

In the climax, there is a series of slow motion images that are shown alongside contrapuntal music reminiscent of a romance film.

The Actors

As each of the actors/actress’ appears at the end of the trailer, the voice over says their name. It can sometimes involve a short introduction such as “Academy award winning….”

The Title

The title must remain the same through out in order for the audience to recognise the film. This has been down as the representation of the film title is the same on each of the different film posters.
