MARCELLO at easelRUDOLFO on benchSCHNARD AND COLLINE drunk on a bean bagBeer bottles and bottle tops strewn all over the floor

Door knocksMARCELLO spins aroundRODOLFO bolts uprightSCHNARD AND COLLINE sit up

“WHO’S THERE” “BENOIT”

RODOLFO jumps behind sofaSCHNARD AND COLLINE pick up bottles franticly “OH GOOD HEAVENS THE LANDLORD”

MARCELLO picks up piggy bank and shakes it....its empty

“LOCK THE DOOR” “NOBODYS HOME”

MARCELLO picks up some of the bottle tops and puts them in to the piggy bank. He shakes it and smiles and passes it to SCHNARD AND COLLINE to continue.MARCELLO opens the door

BENOIT enters and holding a piece of paper says “RENT” “WONT YOU SIT DOWN” to BENOIT

“QUICKLY” to SCHANRD

SCHNARD brings the beanbag“BE SEATED” pushes BENOIT down on to the bean bag and offers him a drink (absenthe/whiskey)BENOIT can’t get out or up from the beanbag, meanwhile COLLINE is still filling the piggy bank.

“I NEVER BREAK A PROMISE” MARCELLO motions to COLLINE to bring th piggy bank to BENIOT. He shakes it and shows it to BENIOT.

“LEAST OF ALL FOR MY MISSES” faking shock and indignation COLLINE AND SCHNARD pick up BENIOT one arm each and march him to the door whilst BENIOT trys to get the piggy bank.

MARCELLO, REDOLFO, SCHNARD AND COLLINE stand at the doorway waving BENIOT off laughing.
