The spring weather has finally arrived and so have all the smiles as people now remember what the sun looks and feels like. I hope everyone enjoyed a restful Spring Break as we begin the push into the final stretch of this school year. I will start by thanking everyone who took the time to attend our parent and teacher conferences near the end of March. Being able to have those face to face conversations and celebrate all of the hard work the students at LBC have put in, is extremely valuable. The last three months of the school year are always busy and April is certainly no exception. This month is packed with not only engaging learning in the classrooms, but plenty of events as well. We will be having our band concert, the badminton season begins, the Science Fair is on, Grade 5 registrations begin, and our school fundraisers are up and running (just to name a few). Information on all of these and more will be on its way if it hasn’t been put out there already. Thank you for all of your support and if you have any questions around the events mentioned above or any other reason please do not hesitate to call or know that our door is always open if you wish to come by for a conversation.

Our main music event of the year is nearly upon us! Music: An Athletic Art will take place on April 10

th with concerts at 1:00 and 6:30 p.m. Students are asked to wear sporty clothing

which could include jerseys, track pants, shorts, runners, etc. There will be performances by bands, recorders, choir, and a couple of special ensembles. Students should arrive between 6:00 and 6:10 for the evening concert to ensure they are ready to perform. Please let Mr. Reimer know ASAP if your child has another non-negotiable commitment that day and is not able to attend at creimer@srsd.ca. See you there!

Basketball News Congratulations goes out to our girls grade 7/8 basketball team on their dominant win in the B side Finals vs St. Anne’s Immersion 41-13. The girls practiced very hard over the course of the season and grew very well together as a team. Season highlights was the girls second half play and full court press that teams had trouble beating.

Most Outstanding Player Award: Molly B. Most Improved Player Award: Vidhi M.

Congratulations goes out to our boys grade 8 basketball team on finishing their season undefeated with a big 69-49 win over St. Norbert Immersion. The boys competed hard all season and just narrowly missed qualifying for the Junior High Basketball Championships put on by Basketball Manitoba. We wish all of our graduating players good luck next year!

Badminton Our LBC badminton season is starting this month and it will finish with a division wide tournament hosted at the University of Manitoba on Thursday, May 2. The tournament and badminton season is for any grade 7/8 students wishing to try out for a singles, doubles, or mixed doubles team. More information will come on a school tournament for our grade 5/6 students.
