Our election BBQ was a great success. The P&C are still finalising all the figures but anticipate that we will have raised over $500. A great effort for a one day event. Thank you to all the helpers and also to our students who were here with their parents and had to fill in time while the adults were working. Today our K-2 students have participated in the National Simultaneous Storytime and have heard the story “Alpacas with Maracas” read by the author Matt Cosgrove. A picnic lunch in the hall with a story to listen to was great. Everyone wearing their coloured socks really added to the atmosphere.

Over the last 2 weeks our Year 3 and Year 5 students have been sitting the NAPLAN tests. Although you may have heard some horror stories in the media our students have been very relaxed. (The teachers will relax when it is all over!) We had done lots of trial runs before the real event and had identified the best way to set our computers up. In the next few weeks we will have some maintenance work starting around the school. We will be getting the toilets in Block B upgraded, some broken concrete replaced, a new sports shed door installed and parts of the covering over the K-2 lunch area replaced. Although the works will be inconvenient for a short time the end results will be worth it. Merrita Jeffrey (Principal)

The cold weather is here. Please label

2W had some fun this week adding money. We set up a shop with shop tellers and cash registers and got to buy lots of different items. Each item had a price and once we chose some items and added them together we could go and buy them. We had such a great time!

Earn & Learn is on again – 1 May to 25 June Please collect the stickers when you shop at any Woolworths supermarkets. You can drop them in our box at Toronto Woolworths or bring them to school. We have a box in our office. Thank you in advance for your help. This gives our students the chance to earn a fantastic range of equipment for our school.

Entertainment books – Please return these books now or if you chose to purchase one please return the envelope with money or slip. Thank you
