ABSTRACT

Aloe vera plants (A.barbadensis Miller) has been planted in Bali since 2006 and spread out n fiveregencies, i'e' Buleleng, Karangasem, Bangli, Gianyar and Badung; invotving 13g farmers, withtotal area 170 hectare. Disease that h'ave oestroyeo Atoe vera L reif base rol witn the symptomof rotten base leaf' The objectives of this researih were to know the occurrence of pathogen inBali and to identify the cauCal agent that responsible for the leaf base rot disease on atoe. surveyon leaf base rot disease in Aloe vera piants was carrieJ out in 5 regencies in Bali, i.e.Karangasem, Buleteng,. Bangli, Gianyar and Badung. eainogen isolation on sample wasconducted until pure culture was obtained, and then wal inoculated on healthy Aloe vera plantsto confirm that the same symptom occurred- il tlre 1en irocrr eostulate test). The causal agentwas identified by molecular identification of 18s rDNA. Results showed that the leaf base rotdisease was distributed.in all five regencies in Bali wiih "r;;rg;incidence

was 13.43% and thecausal agent of the leaf base rot disease was Fusaium ir4"iZ*^.
