LEAVING CERTIFICATE APPLIED
STUDENT OF THE YEAR
We recognise our students achievements in a myriad of differ-
ent ways throughout the school year. The highlight is an end of
year Award Ceremony in May, where the following awards are
proudly presented:

FRENCH SPEAKERS OF THE YEAR
When awarding TJ Halpin, Ms. Nolan said
that he is a conscientious, hardworking stu-
dent, that has applied himself to all tasks. He is
pleasant and helpful at all times. As well as
student of the year TJ also received awards for
Excellence in LCA Art and Construction Stud-
ies. TJ has excelled in his art studies during his
time here and managed to secure a place on
the highly coveted animation course in BCFE
next year.
Of Ryan Cosgrave, Ms. Nolan said , Ryan's
attendance is excellent. He is very involved in
extra curricular activities - School show (band)
grinds, and the recent school trip to Prague.
Very polite young man. A very diligent stu-
dent academically, he has often given extra
work up to teachers to be corrected. As well as
student of the year Ryan also received a musi-
cian of the year award. Ryan has attended any
extra classes and has been a big help to Mr.
Kelly in the music department. He plays the
drums. Outside of school he is involved in a
marching band and has played on St Patrick's
Day in the parade.
EDWARD FILIP
This student is very hardworking and pleasant. A
bright student, curious and knowledgeable, punctu-
al and has excellent attendance. He makes an
excellent effort in subjects, is polite and well-
mannered with a good sense of humour. Edward
completes homework to a high standard and has
represented the school in numerous activities such
as soccer, handball and athletics.
Emmanuel Aremu
Quietly diligent and conscientious with impeccable
manners, always polite. Steady and cooperative,
an excellent worker particularly in French and Sci-
ence. Always focused, an all-rounder. Emmanuel is
consistently well behaved since day one.
LAURA CARRIG
Excellent in her efforts, always helpful. Very hard-
working, academically very strong and her work is
presented to a very high standard. Very courteous
and friendly, a pleasant, cooperative and reliable
student. She is punctual and has excellent attend-
ance. Laura goes above and beyond and has rep-
resented the school on so many occasions from
sport to music and JCSP events. She was in the
band for the musical, played basketball and is a
library assistant.
JUNIOR CYCLE STUDENTS
OF THE YEAR
Vanessa did very well in the Junior Certificate and brought a hardworking and positive
attitude through to TY. She is always well mannered and pleasant to everyone. She has
an excellent attendance record and is always very punctual, and always willing to help
staff and other students. Vanessa has seized every opportunity on offer in TY with great
energy and enthusiasm. An employer during work experience reported that she had an
“Excellent attitude, very pleasant and completed tasks very quickly and effectively.” She
took part in the school musical and in other sporting activities. As an indication of how
successful this student has been in TY a score of 99% has been awarded by all the TY
teachers for the TY Achievement Award.
Zack Ward, also a very diligent and hardworking student, has had a very successful TY
year. A recipient of the Enda Wymes award last year Zack always has a positive atti-
tude to study and is well liked by his peers and staff of the college. He has an excellent
attendance record, and is always prepared for class. He had a very successful work
experience in The National Museum and developed some new acting skills, with his
role in the school musical.

Creativity- We encourage and promote
creativity across the full range of subjects.
Kylemore College has a particularly close
association with the Arts, a tradition that
goes back many years. Students get the
opportunity to study music, drama as well
as art, craft & design.
Sports- We are passionately commit-
ted to providing a healthy lifestyle in
our school community. We recognise
that nutrition, sport and exercise have
a big part to play in achieving this
goal. We constantly promote healthy
eating and student participation in
sports and fitness. The following
range of sports are catered for in the
College- Athletics, Badminton,
Basketball, Boxing, Canoeing, Gaelic
football, Hillwalking, Hurling, Soccer
and Table Tennis.

Academic- we never com-promise on our students achieving exceptional levels of academic progress and standards. The teaching in our classrooms is creative, ordered and focused, with good student behaviour and participation being the norm. Homework is set and corrected regularly to reinforce the classroom learning. All students are expected to give their best in classwork and homework.
