THE KULINTANG• Set of eight graduated pot gongs and serves the melody.

• Arranged in a single row over an open framed rack.

• Has different kinds of tune depending on the gong player.

• Played melodically with a pair of Wooden sticks

DABAKAN• Made of wooden trunk and has a conical shape.

• The top is made of goat skin and also played using 2 stick.

• Dabakan plays different rhytmic pattern whichgives color to the ensemble.

AGONG• Two large, wide flanged, bossed, hanging gongs.

• Played with a short stick the striking end covered with strips of innertube rubber.

• The sound is low and deep and serves as bass in the ensemble.

• Can be play by 1 or 2 people.

BABANDIL• A gong of moderate size and it is an important looking instrument.

• Serves the beat in the whole ensemble. It is important because it gives the right speed.

• Placed on the side or handheld and hit with a stick.

• Kulintang gongs can be substitute for babandil.
