New load sensing hydraulic systemKubota introduces an advancedhydraulic system that gives a bettereffect on operation feeling and less fuelconsumption. With this new load sensingsystem, the hydraulic oil flow is suppliedfrom only one variable displacementpump. The load information on eachactuator is fed back to the pump at alltimes and the pump distributes theappropriate oil flow to each actuatoraccording to the amount of lever stroke.As a result, regardless of different loadsituations, equal movement to thehydraulic cylinder is achieved relative tothe lever stroke. This makes work suchas lifting and levelling much smoother. Inaddition, when the operation control leveris in the neutral position, the pump stopssupplying unnecessary oil flow. Thismeans the pump only supplies requiredoil flow. Thus, unnecessary energy wasteis minimised due to eliminating excessiveoil return flow to the hydraulic tank withthis load sensing hydraulic system.Compared to conventional models,about 20 % of fuel can be saved carryingout similar jobs.
Enhanced digging forceA well-balanced arm and bucket providesan operator efficient digging force. Inaddition, by setting the maximum operatingpressure at 24.5 MPa, each digging forcehas been enhanced by15 % in order toincrease speed of even tough digging jobs.
Adjustable maximum oil flow on auxiliary circuitThe maximum oil flow rate of the auxiliary circuit can bechanged/adjusted by simply pushing a switch—there’sno need for additional tools. This simplifies the utilisationof front attachments like tiltbuckets, brush cutters andhydraulic hammers—you canreduce or increase the flow to getjust the right amount of control. *The maximum oil flow can vary accordingto the load of front attachments.
Four simultaneous operationsWhen simultaneous operation of the boom,arm, bucket, and swing is required such aswhen loading on to trucks or lifting, the pumpdistributes adequate oil flow to each actuatoraccording to the amount of lever strokewithout loss of speed or power, ensuring highperformance digging and dozing at all times.
Third line hydraulic returnThe Third Line HydraulicReturn enables greater oilflow efficiency by reducingback pressure when workingwith hydraulically actuatedattachments, such as ahydraulic hammer.
ROPS/FOPS cabin (Level1)The cabin offers maximumoperator safety with its RollOver Protection Structure(ROPS) and Falling ObjectProtection Structure (FOPS).

Informative, interactive and functional. Kubota's IntelligentControl System keeps you in tune of the KX121-3α’s vitalsigns. It accurately displays easy to understand diagnosticsof current working conditions and warning indicators forengine rpm and hour meter, as well as for fuel, temperatureand oil levels. When filling-up with fuel, our panel alsoinforms the operator that the tank is nearly full, plus alertsthe operator to when routine maintenance is due. Overall,the panel reduces excavator downtime and repair fees for adecrease in total operating costs.

Auto Idling System (AI)When high engine rpm is not needed, orwhen control levers are left in neutral forlonger than 4 seconds, the idling systemautomatically reduces the engine toidling rpm. When the levers are movedagain, engine rpm is promptly reset tothe dial-set rpm. This innovative featurenot only reduces noise and exhaustemissions, but saves on fuel, energy andrunning costs as well.
Constant oil flow switchAny attachment thatrequires a constant oil flow,this ON/OFF press switchenables a simple operation.
Proportional flowauxiliary switchRepositioned from the floor, a convenient thumb-operatedswitch enables easy operationof auxiliary equipment, suchas the auger and tilt bucket.
2--speed switchConveniently mounted on thedozer lever, the repositioned 2-Speed Travel Switch allowsadvanced user-friendly travelspeed changes, increasedfloor space, improvedoperation, as well as greatercontrol and comfort.

Control valve inspectionA quick and easy inspection of thecontrol valve is possible simply byopening the latch on the bonnetlocated to the right of the cabin.When more detailed maintenance orrepairs are required, the remainingpanels on the swing frame can beeasily removed using standard tools.
Engine inspectionPrimary points like the engine and aircleaner can be inspected and maintainedquickly and easily via the rear enginecover. Fuel filter and water separator areindependently installed and both arelocated inside engine bonnet for the easierinspection. An engine inspection windowis also located behind the seat for easieraccess to the engine’s injection nozzles.
Protected bucket cylinder hosesThe bucket cylinder hoses arerouted within the arm to protect fromdamage. This ensures a longerservice life and lower repair costs.Operator visibility is also improved.
Travelling lock systemWhenever the pilot control safetylever is not engaged, the travellevers are locked mechanically toprevent unexpected machinemovement especially when theoperator enters or exits the cabin.
Swivel negative brakeWith the swivel negative brake,the swivel function is lockedautomatically whenever theengine is stopped or the pilotcontrol safety lever is raised.This feature eliminates the needfor a swivel transport lock pin.
Two piece hose designThe innovative two piece hose designon the dozer and boom cylinders ofthe KX121-3αreduces hosereplacement time by 60 % comparedto non-joint types. What’s more, thisdesign virtually eliminates the need toenter the machine for maintenance.
