Applications
The KRF backflush filter is a versatile self-cleaning,
maintenance-free filter for liquid media.
Brief description and operation
The electronic control monitors the differential pres-
sure applied to the strainer by means of a differenti-
al pressure switch. If the preset differential pressure
of 0.2 - 2 bar (depending on the design) is attained,
the cleaning function is triggered. In addition the
cleaning function can be triggered by a timer ormanually at the touch of a button, depending on the
operating conditions.
The contaminated medium flows through the flange
marked inlet into the filter. The contaminated me-
dium flows through the filter insert from the inside
to the outside and escapes from the flange marked
outlet as cleaned medium.
The reversible flow nozzle lowers the interior of the
strainer insert and simultaneously the contaminant
outlet valve is opened so that a pressure gradient oc-curs relative to the atmosphere. This initiates strainer
cleaning. The filter is designed in such a manner that
the drop in pressure for optimized cleaning can be
kept extremely low.
Filtration is not interrupted during the backflush
process in a system. After the set flushing period
elapses the contaminant outlet valve closes automa-
tically.
Installation
The filter is installed in pipes by means of flanges.Ensure that the standard version of the filter is
installed vertically and a mechanically tension-free
manner without additional loads. The medium must
flow in the direction specified on the housing. Incor-
rect installation can cause separator malfunctions.
The contaminant outlet pipe must be laid with no
pressure, without cross section reduction, without an
ascending gradient, and, if possible with a descen-
ding gradient.
