Korea Game Development & Promotion Institute(KGDI) is a non-profit organization to promote the game industryas strategic industry for knowledge based information society of the 21st century. KGDI’s primary goal is to support planning, development, producing and marketing, enhancing their specialized capability.

January, 1997 The action plan for the promotion of game industry was completed
March, 1998 The action plan was revised to include the Culture Industry Promotion plan
January, 1999 The secretariat was launched to plan the establishment of the Korea Game Promotion Center(KGPC)
February, 1999 The license for KGPC was issued
July, 1999 The opening ceremony for KGPC took place
Jan, 2002 Korea Game Promotion Center promoted(renamed) to Korea Game Development & Promotion Institute
