What is your ideal beach? White sand, emerald sea, various shells or fun marine activities? But, I think about cute girls in a tiny bikini running around the beach, being under water and getting wet.

There are many times when I get myself relaxed at the beach through the strong sun, I see ladies with her favorite outfi ts. That’s quite a pleasant view. I think the beach and the girls often go together. So on this Kon Phuket Magazine’s cover, we have cute girl in sexy bikinis taken

ICT?

Wirote : Dear readers, on this Phuket Talk’s column, I would take you through the “Inside IT”, of which I received a great honor from Prof. Potchara Damrongvuth, Phuket’s Information and Communication Tech-nology (ICT) expert to join the topic. Let’s get to the point; do you think Phuket can be considered as the ICT city yet? Potchara : It really depends on how well our Phuketians know about ICT. “3G, ADSL, WiFi, or Leased Line” are just tools to get through the tech-nology. Enabling the accessibility to all Phuke-tians in all area, and whenever they want is more important. And, that is the indicator of whether or not Phuket is becoming the ICT city. Range age between 16 – 45 years old is also an important fac-tor because the number of people in this group will complete Phuket the ICT city when they are fully supported by the technology.Wirote : The next point would be the information we obtained when we had full accessibility. Such information must be real proven fact that has been processed, not just a raw material – professor. I think our system networking must be quite ready, mustn’t it? Perhaps, it would cost a great deal.Potchara : Yes, that is correct. If you have a network or a database center, we can tell pretty much which trend people are up to. Even better if we have a good host who would monitor it, fi lter it, maintain the system and allow the people to be a part of inputting and adding contents. For instance, they are able to upload images, fi les, or video clips about the city. Once everything is combined in the same place, whoever in this world can look up information related to Phuket, they will look up at the same source because it is reliable. The host could be provincial administrative organization (PAO) or local administrative organization (LAO/ commonly known as OBT) or it could be any private sector.

Wirote : If that’s so, we could prelimi-narily put images, or background of lo-cations in Phuket that were scattered before, to combine them altogether and fi nd the person who organize them – am I right?Potchara : That would be quite a good start. Images, video clips and history or backgrounds of Phuket tare interesting contents. We could start it from there, and let the host set up a system, to identify each detail, and

to categorize it. Children, tourists, or news agencies could easily look up either the history or the current’s talk of the town in here.Wirote : So who would get the benefi t? Do you think there would be any one who seeks for a commercial benefi t behind the scene? Or how could I utilize from the network? Who would get the reserved right?

Potchara : Let’s put it in two ways - there could be free publications and there could be chargeable publications. The reserved rights or the copy rights somehow belong to the original source. It’s really depends on the intention of each publication if it’s for commercial use or for public use.

Wirote : I see – that’s interesting, then. Do you think the PAO would be criticized for charging the people money? Or, why don’t we let the private sector take care of the system ?Potchara : It really depends on how we provide the service. It could be either the government sector or the private sector to host the system because each has its potentiality uniquely. The government sector may be able to gather information better than the private sector because of the internal government system itself. On the other hand, the pri-vate sector may be able to gather information faster and more ef-fi ciently.Wirote : Right - so in conclu-sion, it is not just a high speed internet, it is also the effi ciency of the networking system to make our city a complete ICT city. But we would also need to look at the substance of infor-mation whether or not it would be useful. That’s very important. I think there is a lot to do if we really want Phuket to become a complete ICT city. Anyway, time is running up now and I am thank-ful for you, Professor Potchara for your time in giving us such valuable knowledge. As April is approaching, many people are looking forward to the Songkran festival, but how many of us know that we have the turtle release festi-val held on April 13 of every year too?

In one year, there are a large number of eggs that turtles have laid on the Phuket beaches. This is typically around October to the follow-ing February which results tourists to watch

the turtles laying their eggs and leads to the tradition of walking turtle. And, when the turtle eggs and the turtle meats are consumed, the number of turtles decreases and leads to extinction. The government sector and the Phuket Marine Biological Center established the sea turtle reservation project by babysitting the turtle babies until the day they are ready to be released into the sea. Later, such release became the turtle release festival to today’s date. Every year, the festival is held on various

beach locations where the turtles have laid their eggs on. The trend of turtle reser-vation has drawn the world’s attention in recent years; it receives a positive feedback from Thai and foreign tour-ists unexpectedly. Subse-quently, many large private sectors use such as the main activity to attract tourists. With their public relations and the globalization, the turtle release festival has become a high interest to the foreigners.

1. Choose one that is suitable to your skin type. For oily skin, you will need a sun block that says “oil free” or “grease – free”. For sensitive skin, natural product is for your kind. For those who easily gets pimples, non-comedogenic sun block is recommended because your skin will absorb the cream quickly.

2. The minimum SPF (sun protection factor) is 15. The number of SPF is sub-ject to how long your skin is exposed to the sun. For instance, if you are outside

for 4 hours, you may need the SPF higher than just 15.3. Ladies who enjoy water sports, or sports that take up a lot

of energy and sweat, look for a sun block that says “water proof” (protecting your skin up to 80 minutes), or “water

resistant” (protecting your skin up to 40 minutes) 4. Each sun block product should be used for each particular part of our body. For instance, sun block for facial use; sun block for body use; and sun block for hand use.
