Our History

ilbert and Lillian Knueppel founded Knueppel Pharmacy in 1955. In 1972 ownership was transferred to their son, Richard Knueppel. Under his ownership, the business evolved from a pharmacy selling greeting cards and candy to a pharmacy with home medical equipment. Then in 2003, the business, now Knueppel HealthCare Services, Inc. (KHS) was purchased by his son, William Knueppel, and Cindy Ciardo. We are proud to say that we remain family-owned and operated and now have three convenient locations

in Southeastern Wisconsin--West Allis, Racine and Mequon.

The pharmacy is long-gone, but KHS has expanded to include high-tech, assistive rehab equipment and custom fabrication, as well as home modifications for people with disabilities or those wishing to age in place. On the softer side, KHS boasts the largest women’s

health and compression therapy business in Wisconsin.

KHS remains very committed to the communities we serve. We feel strongly about providing continuing education for our staff, and sharing that knowledge with our clients and healthcare professionals. Our staff is required to be certified and attend a myriad of training seminars annually. We regularly present educational in-services for healthcare professionals on a variety of topics addressing the medical equipment and supply needs of those recovering from surgery, as well as the injured, elderly and disabled. In addition, we support and participate in many organizations that educate consumers and healthcare professionals, increase awareness of healthcare related issues within the medical community, and advocate improvements

within our industry.

We believe that informed clients and healthcare providers will make better decisions about the products and services they receive or recommend. We know that making educated choices results in better compliance and treatment success, positively impacting comfort, safety, well-being, and total rehabilitation.

Primary Usage

Grayscale Treatment

The Knueppel HealthCare Services logo is our most powerful branding tool. Distorting the color selection, typography,

size, or other features are not conducive to preserving our identity. Proper treatment of our logo is important to create an

enduring, memorable corporate image for Knueppel HealthCare Services, Inc.

Knueppel HealthCare Services, Inc. ensures consistency in logo

placement and use through effective alignment. The spacing is

based on the cap height of the “H.” The entire logoform fits within a

perfectly rectangular space.

Knueppel Healthcare Services, Inc. uses two typefaces, Mrs. Eaves

Roman and ASAP. ASAP is used as an accent to the serif type.

Mrs. Eaves Roman is used in the logo and is represented by numerous

typestyles, including a style consisting entirely of ligatures. This

typeface proves readable across all forms of media and characterizes

the neatness and sophistication of the Knueppel HealthCare Services,

Inc. brand.

ASAP features open counters and arced terminals, which facilitate

clarity and modern feel. Type in ASAP should accent any serif type

or serve to break up blandness or monotony. ASAP should be used in

headlines and titles to which the designer would like to call attention.

Our Corporate Symbol

Through layering transparent shapes of simplified leaves and a single

heart, the color version of the Knueppel HealthCare Services symbol

is evinced. For simplified designs or watermarks, for instance, the

stroked symbol of the very same design is used.

The full color transparent symbol should only ever

appear in Gold Peach, Honeydew, or Lavender. A

grayscale color mode is the only exception.

The stroked symbol may appear in any of the five

colors from the designated palette at any opacity.

This symbol serves to allow freedom with designed

materials while preserving our identity.

Knueppel HealthCare Services typifies its

products and services through five distinct

departments. Hummingbird and Ladylike are

swatches that have been chosen for the Women’s

Health and Medical Equipment divisions only.

They are not to be used in the same manner as

the original Color Palette.

The Gold Peach swatch is strictly reserved for

applications of the Knueppel HealthCare Services

corporate logo.
