History:First we start ‘RKG Fashion Net’ a garments sourcing agency in 2005. Since then we are serving many foreign buyers with high level of service and quality. During this period we have been
motivated by many of our clients to establish our own factory to ensure our service level on a top ranking status without depending on third party factory. So we moved one step ahead to
setup our own manufacturing facility namely 'Upoma Knit Fashion Ltd.".
Being a professional knitwear Manufacturer in Bangladesh, our prime goal is to mark ourselves as a fast-growing, well-established & renowned company. Our main products include all
kinds of T-Shirt, Polo Shirt, Sweat Shirt, Jacket, Shorts, Tank-Top, Pajama Set, Children Knitwear & all kind’s of knitwear. We frequently improve our garments production complying with
world class quality standards in the fast flourishing garments industry. We would like to assure on-time delivery with top class garments after-maintaining all steps of quality check.
MERCHANDISING DEPARTMENT:
Our Merchandising Department consists of some young and energetic professionals. This dynamic team is led by heavily experienced Director Mr. Nazrul Islam who has profound
knowledge in procurement, product development, material sourcing, consumption, costing, booking, pattern and all other necessary technical knowledge. There are senior merchandisers
who work coherently following a chain of command. The merchandisers deal with every individual orders independently in all aspects of logistic & technical requirements. They strictly
follow the Time & Action plan set by the Director. Sourcing & procurement is extensively related to this department on terms of fabric development, knitting-dying production, fabric, color,
shade, construction, trims, packaging, decorations (print/embroidery etc.) and so on. Their activities are not limited to consumption, costing, booking & sampling only but also they are
actively involved in production floors as well.
QA DEPARTMENT:
We have strong quality assuarance team, they are maintaining 4 steps of quality level like first team beginning from yarn, knitting to the good quality fabric, second team maintaining
proper way of cutting, third team maintaining stitching quality level & fourth team maintaining finishing up to the shipment. The whole processes are maintained by a QA Manager. He
closely monitors each stage of the manufacturing process from fabric selection to designing, cutting, stitching etc., keeping in mind the style and comfort of the wearer. Various quality
parameters like shrinkage of the fabric, color fastness, light fastness and other specifications are checked so that our clients get only the best.
HR AND ADMIN DEPARTMENT:
We are also aware of our workers and employees whom we consider as the heart of our business. In this regard, we have established a Human Resources Department which works as a
moderator between the governing body and workers. This department is responsible for the recruitment of workers, their data, salaries, bonus, promotion, leave, medical and other
facilities. They continuously look after the production floor to ensure a harmless and congenial atmosphere for the workers. They are also liable for the worker’s and factory’s safety
measurements. For this reason, they arrange different training programs, fire-drillings, checking the safety equipments on regular basis.
ACCOUNTS/COMMERCIAL/LOGISTICS:This is a consolidated professional team maintain accounts, commercial and logistics. Keep tracks of every expenses, deals with suppliers, banks, financial organizations, C&F agents and
forwarding agencies. Precess all sorts data to track down profit/loss, reasons and remedies.
PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT:
This team consist of several segment in production flow led by a highly experienced production GM. This team makes planning and decision for production coordinated with Merchandising
team and QA team, to ensure T&A, Quality and on time completion of the goods. This team deals with all workers, manage and control the production sequence from cutting to finishing.

There is no forced, bonded or involuntary prison labour. Workers are not required to lodge "deposits" or their identity
papers with their employer and are free to leave their employer after reasonable notice.
Workers, without distinction, have the right to join or form trade unions of their own choosing and to bargain collectively.
We have not put any restriction on that. They are open to join labour associations for maintaining their rights.
Details of working conditions and saftey has been given next in 16.3 details.
Child labour will not be appointed in our factory, which is a mandatory at recruitment policy.
HEALTH CARE:
A sound health is the first condition to have the best performance. Therefore, we always keep the production area very neat & clean. We provide pure drinking water for the workers. And
for any unexpected situation or accident we have made an emergency volunteer team who will control the situation. We have the arrangement of first-aid kit box for initial treatment. We
have cooperation with nearby clinics and hospitals. As the factory is located in prime location within capital city of Dhaka, we have all kinds of medical assistance within 10 minutes distant.
Wages and benefits paid for a standard working week conform with national legal standard (National wage board).
Working hours, excluding overtime, shall be defined by contract, and shall not exceed 48 hours per week. All overtime
shall be voluntary. Overtime shall be used responsibly, taking into account all the following: the extent, frequency and
hours worked by individual workers and the workforce as a whole. It shall not be used to replace regular employment.
Overtime shall always be compensated at a premium rate, which is recommended to be not less than 125% of the regular
rate of pay. Working hours may exceed 60 hours in any seven day period only in exceptional circumstances such as
accidents, production peaks etc. but not to be a regular practice.
There is no discrimination in hiring, compensation, access to training, promotion, termination or retirement based on
race, caste, national origin, religion, age, disability, gender, marital status, sexual orientation, union membership or
political affiliation.
To every extent possible work performed must be on the basis of recognised employment relationship established
through national law and practice. Obligations to employees under labour or social security laws and regulations arising
from the regular employment relationship shall not be avoided through the use of labour-only contracting, sub-
contracting, or home-working arrangements, or through apprenticeship schemes where there is no real intent to impart
skills or provide regular employment, nor shall any such obligations be avoided through the excessive use of fixed-term
contracts of employment.
Physical abuse or discipline, the threat of physical abuse, sexual or other harassment and verbal abuse or other forms of
intimidation shall be prohibited. The provisions of this code constitute minimum and not maximum standards, and this
code should not be used to prevent companies from exceeding these standards. Companies applying this code are
expected to comply with national and other applicable law and, where the provisions of law and this Base Code address
the same subject, to apply that provision which affords the greater protection.
Details-Working conditions are safe and hygienic:
Main stair 5 ft. wide with emergency evacuation & another 4 ft. wide for emergency exit.
Production floor is equipped with 4 nos. heavy-duty industrial exhaust fan runs full time to ensure proper air-flow through
the whole work spaces.

Fire extinguishers are installed as per instruction from Fire & Civil defense authority.
There are necessary fire fighting equipments stand by as per instruction from Fire & Civil defense authority. Also
additional water tank on the roof with separate supply line for fire-hose to ensure 24-hrs standby water supply for any
accidental emergency.
Weekly fire drills are initiated and practiced regularly to maintain allowed evacuation period.
Stand by IPS back up for emmergency situation of all power failure.
Our roof top is free from additional shade or any other construction.
All generators located in the ground, outside of the building to avoid any possible damage on main construction by the
vibration.
Adequate numbers ceilling fans & bridge electric light is provided for worker motivation.
First aid box, Accident log book, Fire alarm etc.

First year of it's run, Upoma is doing sub-contract orders for other export oriented factories. Meanwhile we were getting ready ourselves for OEM export orders. The preparation was done
on several ground. Mainly two important part, one: To get all licenses and necessary permissions from all relevent authorities. Success on this is beyond question if any check our list of
licenses. number two priority was to develop our production people, make them more efficient, getting control over production and quality, setting up correct production flows, creating
right coordinations between different departments. This effort also turned to a high level of success. As we can see, we have done more than 700,000pcs different type of garments having
different complex level, but there is no record of quality failure or delivery failure.
So, we entered 2nd phase of our planning. We have started doing our own direct export orders. First customer is one of the reputed clothing chains in Russia & CIS. They have done an
audit on our factory before approving the factory for doing their orders. The audit was mainly performed on technical ground, not for social compliance. However, it's a great acheivement
for us that we got Grade-B (score 70 out of 100) in the terms of factory's technical & production capacity.
