The Award is presented to knights who demonstrate extensive service to KC activities. Above Gary is holding the application for his award prepared by Jim Michaelson. Exemplifications Welcome New MembersOn April 18th the Council welcomed fifteen 3rd degree members to the Coucil (l-r): front: Kirby Krischke, Dave Sinette, Dan Cari, Steve Aza, Jonathon Annen, Dave Weeks, Michael Holmstadt, back: Drew Delong, Matthew Heldstab, Kevin Gotrik, Roy Oscarson, Joel Marvin, John Janssen, Chad Renberg, Gary Schweizer. When you see our Brother Knights invite them to join you at Council activities.

Confirmation Honor GuardThe 2015 Confirmation class was honored on April 19th with a 4th Degree Honor Guard comprised of brothers from Council 1762 led by Commander Jim Michelson: l-r, Jim Michaelson, Mike Riesdorph, Bill Skaare, Treasurer Tim Shafer, Warden Dan Schwab, Advocate Chris Mchaelson and Deputy Grand Knight Mike Weseli. Included also are Brother Knights Fr Pat MacConnell, Chaplain Fr. John Gerritts and Seminarian Sam Schneider.

Consider Volunteering to be a Council 1762 OfficerAt the May meeting the council will vote for the 2015-2016 officers. The slate of officer has yet to be finalized. If interested contact Mike Weseli who will replace John Gushue as Grand Knight in July 2015. Officers are voted upon every year with Grand Knight and Deputy Grand Knight usually serving two consecutive years.

Blood Drive - May 4thDan Schwab and Mike MacDonald are helping with planning the May blood drive. This is the first of two 2015 Blood drives. Keep the date in mind and consider scheduling a time to either donate or help or both.

Roadside Clean-up April 11th Roy Oscarson arranged with the State DOT for the council to clean-up a portion of Route A near the entrance to Willow River State Park. Clean-up is usually done in an hour However, due to the low volunteer turnout the clean-up took Roy’s team over two hours. The next clean-up scheduled for July 11th is expected to attract a larger response to complete the clean-up in the usual one hour. Contact Roy to help.

Bridge Bowl-a-Rama a Huge Success Chancellor Chris Michaelson coordinated the Council participation in the Bridge Bowl-a-Rama held at the Hudson Bowling Alley in Hudson on April 18th. Pictured at left are Jerry Martell, Denny Darnold, John Knutson, Joe Graetz, Peg Gagnon, Bridge executive, Dave Wakefield, Jeff Abrahamson, Chris Michaelson, chairman, and Jim Michaelson. The Bowl-a-Rama is held annually to help support the Bridge work with local intellectually handicapped kids. At right is Trustee John Knutson directing the auction as emcee.

Bratwagon Opens May 1Merrit Stigen has announced that the KC Bratwagon at RJ’s will begin the 2015 season the first weekend in May. Volunteer a few hours to share some time with fellow KCs, feed hungry travelers and help the council. Sign up on line to pick a spot that fits your schedule.

Weather Cooperates forTootsie Roll Drive Ed DePauw led the Council the weekend of April 18-19 in the annual Tootsie Roll drive to collect donations that help the intellectually disabled. Above Ed proudly wraps up Saturday’s collecting at Family Fresh with Gerry Martell.
