Ivan Wong Professor Dan Eaton B A 300 October 1, 2015 The Salary of Knicks Dancers A strange shift in the atmosphere of the dance audition room happened as Ryan Watson walked through the door. “Mr. Watson thank you for coming to talk to the dancers today” said Criscia Richardson, a captain of the dance team. Mr. Watson acknowledges the captain and replies, “It is my pleasure to be here today to discuss the issue of salaries with the auditionees.” “Ladies, thank you for your interest in joining the dance squad this season. It is a tough process and there have been a few questions going around concerning the salaries of dancers for the Knicks” said Mr. Watson as he turned to address the auditionees. “Although many of you are concerned with the financial benefits that the job provides, it is something that does not need to be worried about. It is in our best interest to provide the best customer and employee satisfaction as possible. With that being said, our management team has been left with a difficult decision of whether to or not to release salary information of the Knicks dancers to the public.” He takes a pause as the auditionees absorb what he has just said. “It is only appropriate that employees know the amount they will be paid for their services. We understand that the dancers for the Knicks sacrifice a lot in order to work for the organization. We understand that there are bills and expenses that need to be paid. Stockholders and investors that work with the organization generally are able to pay those expenses with ease. That may not be the case for many of the audtionees here today” continued Mr. Watson as a few heads nodded in agreement. “While the release of this information will temporarily hurt the relationship between the organization and its stakeholders, it is important to keep our interests aligned with those who serve this organization through their services. Thus, if a group of potential employees are concerned about the financial aspect of the

The Salary of Knicks Dancers
