Personal Notes for David C. Klugh:David Carl Klugh is the oldest of four sons of Carl Dean Klugh and Marie Celestia Klugh (Sensenbach). He wasborn on Wednesday, November 28th 1945 at St. Luke's Hospital in Bethlehem PA at 3:15 PM. Legend has it thathis mother was in labor for over 18 hours. David weighed 8lbs, 9oz and was 21 inches long.

At the time of David's birth, Carl and Marie were living in an apartment at 320 Broad Street in Bethlehem. Oneof David's earliest memories was when he escaped from the apartment, naked, and had made it out onto BroadStreet before mother caught up with him. At the time, Carl had been recently discharged from the USMC, andwas pursuing his high school GED and going to school to learn the electricians trade.

David's pre-school childhood was divided between Bethlehem and Butler PA. The habit of relocating startedearly, as the family moved to Butler in 1947 and then back to Bethlehem in 1949. During this time the familylived in low-cost G.I. housing (908 Sunset Lane in Clearfield Village) that had coal stoves and furnaces, and anicebox in lieu of a refrigerator. Clearfield Village consisted of long concrete block single story row houses.Memories of this era include David and his brother Paul getting into mischief such as going on all day hikeswithout telling mom, taking apart a fire alarm box "to make the fire engines come", taking clandestine trips to thecandy store, and stealing strawberries from a farmer's garden. David also earned his first stitches in his headfalling off a coal bin in front of the house. Another vivid memory is rounding up baby brother, who had a habit ofwandering about three doors away to a vacant lot where he happily ate fistfuls of dirt. There must have beensomething in that dirt because Tom is tallest in the family.

In the summer of 1950, David contracted Polio. This was during a time before the Salk vaccine and parents

typically dreaded the summer months because that is when the disease struck children. It is only because of thewatchful eye of David's grandmother, Francis M. Sensenbach, an R.N. at St. Luke's Hospital, that the symptomswere recognized early and David received immediate treatments that boosted his immune system and preventedmajor paralysis. David spent that summer at home in bed, under the watchful care of Francis.

In 1952 Carl and Marie became one of the millions of WWII vet families that used the G.I. Bill to by a home.Their's was $9,000 two-bedroom, one bath duplex at 1572 Valley Road, in a new subdivision called Kaywin, onBethlehem's west side. Modest by any standards, but after Clearfield Village, David felt as though they hadmoved into a mansion. In 1955 Carl and Marie divorced, but not before the fourth son Eric Jeffrey Klugh wasborn. In the summer of 1958, Marie married Charles L. Kramer and they briefly moved to Roanoke VA. Themarriage did not work out so Marie and the four boys moved back to Bethlehem in the fall. In 1961, the familymoved to Endicott, NY with Harold E. Kabe, who Marie married.

David attended: Calypso elementary school, Nitschman Junior High School, and Broughal Junior High School inBethlehem; William Fleming High School in Roanoke, VA; and graduated from Union-Endicott High School inEndicott, NY in 1963. David graduated from the University of Washington in 1975 with a B.S. in GeologicalOceanography. He also earned a M.S in Educational Technology from National University in 1989.

The day after graduating from high school David joined the Navy and went off to Boot Camp at Great Lakes IL.David found his calling and enjoyed a 22 naval career that included four destroyers and one submarine: USSClaude Jones (DE-1033), USS Conway (DD-507), USS Benjamin Franklin (SSBN-640), USS Barbey (FF-1088),and the USS Leftwich (DD-984). He rose through the ranks from a Seaman Recruit to Lieutenant Commander. He saw combat duty in Viet Nam on the USS Conway and the Persian Gulf on the USS Barbey and USSLeftwich. He made five patrols on the USS Benjamin Franklin, a ballistic missile submarine. David'sassignments included: Electronics Technician, Nuclear Reactor Operator, Main Propulsion Assistant, Navigator,Officer Recruiter, and Chief Engineer.

After his retirement from the Navy in 1985, David was a Naval Science Teacher at Pine Forest High School inPensacola FL, a project manager with ManTech Mathetics, Inc., a director of operations with Person-SystemIntegrated, a graduate assistant at Lehigh University, director of information resources at SGI International, andVice President of Marketing at STRiCOR, Inc. He is presently self-employed as a business developmentconsultant and as a partner with IARISTO Productions.

He married (2) Loretta Metro Rutkowsky130 31 May1988 in New York City131, daughter of Walter Rutkowsky and Helen Metro. She was born 06 May 1953 in SanFrancisco, Ca.

Notes for Thomas Terrance Klugh:Educator (within his professional life at New York University Medical Center at Bellevue Hopital in New YorkCity), writer, mystic-wanna-be, and more, Thomas wore many hats during his life. He attended college sixdifferent times before he finally finished up with a Master's Degree in Philosophy of Education from New YorkUniversity. His Bachelor's Thesis was on "The History of Pulmonary Medicine From Greek Times to Present",while his Master's thesis was on "An Inquiry Pertaining to Philosophy and Science".

Thomas was employed over thirty years in the health care field in one way or another. He started as a portermopping floors, then as a mail room clerk sorting mail and printing up the hospital census, then spent thirteenmonths working in a medical clinic while serving as a medic in the US Army, then upon his Honorable Discharge,as an aide in an emergency room, then as a Respiratory Therapist for sixteen years, and finally and presently as aCoordinator at a major medical center in New York City coordinating a Pulmonary Function Laboratory, wherehe performs Pulmonary Function Testing and Cardio/Pulmonary Exercise testing on people with every pulmonarydysfunction imaginable.Thomas also taught limited pulmonary physiology to physicians as they go through their fellowship in thePulmonary Division.

To date he has written numerous short stories, most between 1,000 and 4,000 words, one of which is a science-fiction story, another of which is a love story and is approximately 14,000 words, and one book, yet to bepublished, which totals almost 48,000 words and which is an Adam and Eve story entitled: "Sisyphus Revisited".

Thomas has always had more than an average interest in things of a spiritual nature. This is not to say he is aspiritual person, as he possesses all the frailties that all people do, and often times succumbs to them, but he hassearched out the lessons of life that all the great teachers of spirituality have taught.

It is with no sense of foolishness or exaggeration that Thomas' desire to search for the meaning of life began withhis birth. His claim is one that goes beyond that of all others in that he lays claim to remembering what he refersto as a most dreaded event. He says that birth isn't the wonderful event that well-meaning grandparents anduncles and aunts and friends make it out to be, but is one of the most horrific exeriences that nature has forcedupon us that we should all shudder at the thought of forcing anyone from suffering through its aperture. He waswell into his twenties that the impressions of his birth followed him, and which intermittantly manifestedthemselves as the most horrific of nightmares, nightmares that followed him into his waking time and that stayedwith him for up to an hour before they departed.

Dreams have played a large part of Thomas' spiritual development. From walking up a small hill lined with treesand bushes, which gave off the most pleasent of feelings, to the stairway going up into the night sky, to thevaporous nectar handed to him by a loved one, to flying at will, to seeing white light, Thomas has always knownthat there is more to existence then is dictated by the senses, and that existence goes beyond that which can beperceived.

Page 24: Klugh Genealogy Report (as of May 19, 2012)

His active search for meaning officially began when he was seven years old and has continued to his present ageof sixty. Though the family was raised in a quasi-Lutheran home, it converted to Methodism when they moved toa town where they lived closer to a Methodist church. Thomas' trek through the spiritual cosmos began withcomic books at age seven, of which he collected over 1,000, to nightly readings of Plato and Aristotle at ageseight, nine, and ten, to Mariology (the apparitions at Lourdes, France, Garabadal, Spain, and Fatima, Portugal andCatholicism in general from ages ten to sixteen, to Fundamentalist Baptists and Pentecostalists at ages seventeenthrough twenty-six, at which time he took a spiritual hiatus for four years, and read up on Jehovah's Witnesses andSeventh Day Adventists, as well as Eckankar - soul travel, then at the ages of thirty-one to thirty-nine he studiedtwo forms of Hinduism: Gaudiya-Vaishnavism, the worship of Krishna, AKA the Hare Krishnas, and thenKashmir Shaivism, or the worship of Shiva. He went on to Zen Bhuddism for two years, and also studied a bit ofIslam. Two additional years were spent attending Native American drumming circles and attending a sweat lodgein the freezing, snowy month of February. Another hiatus lasted a few years. Lastly, life brought him to the endof his searchings by bringing him to Kabbalah - the mystical interpretation of Judaism, which he had actually beenintroduced to in his teenage years. Today Thomas feels comfortable with all his spiritual endeavors.

When given a card at the Kabbalah Centre in New York City which asked: "Why are you taking Kabbalah?"Thomas answered in his usual manner. He wrote:

a) Tried everything else.b) No place else to go.c) Running out of time.d) All of the above.

And then he circled "d". When the secretary read it she said it brought tears to her eyes.

Still, he loves Gaudiya-Vaishnavism: the worship of Krishna, the most. "It's the most beautiful. I like to thinkthat life has saved the best for last," he would say. This brings us back, in a way, full circle to this genealogy.Thomas believes it is necessary to know one's roots, both spiritual as well as physical."If I could," he says, "I would trace our lives back to Adam and Eve." More likely, it will be to some cave mannamed, "Grog" who when he displayed some clever attribute, his fellow cave-mates pointed at him and grunted:"klug!".--------------------------------------------------------A Nomadic Education:"From kindergarten to college, I went to eleven different schools, culminating in a Master's degree from NewYork University with a degree in Philosophy of Education."-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

John2, Samuel1) was born 14 Feb 1974 in At General Hospital in Binghamton, NY. He married Christie LynnMaine 09 May 1997, daughter of Leo Maine and Beverly Puglisi. She was born 24 Jan 1974 in Binghamton,NY.

Notes for Jason Thomas Klugh:Jason is the father of Ellis Sebastian Klugh and husband to Christie L. Klugh (Maine). He was born February14,1974 in Binghamton NY at 11:58am. He grew up in Binghamton NY, and attended middle school at WestMiddle and then continued with high school at Auburn High School in Auburn NY.

Jason joined the Army Reserves on December 31, 1991 and was in the Delayed Entry Program (DEP) untilAugust 13, 1992. He waited until after graduating High School in June of 1992 before he actually left home forBasic Training. He went into Basic Training with his stepbrother Jordan G. Papkov. Both were CombatEngineers studying the art of demolition, bridge building and destruction of bridges with C-4, TNT, CrateCharges and other tactical means. He thought the army was great but he wasn't a morning person, and consideredthe slogan: "We do more before 7am than most people do all day" to be no joke. "If only the day had started at10am," Jay would say, "I would have been in active duty from the start."

Jay entered Broome Community College (BCC) in Binghamton, NY in the Fall of 1993. Prior to this he had anapartment in Auburn, NY, but then decided to move back to Binghamton. Jason went into the Liberal Artsprogram at BCC because he had no idea what he wanted to do for a living. Liberal Arts, at the very least, wouldgive Jay a more rounded view of many subjects. After getting more than half way through his associates degreeJay and a few friends moved to Charlotte, NC where he lived for a year doing odd jobs as a waiter, deliveringfurniture, cooking in a deli, and surveying properties. He combined this with his ongoing obligation to theReserves and also attended UNC in Charlotte.

Jason met his future wife in the Carolina's after which they moved to Tampa, Fl. While living there for a year anda half and working at GTE Telecommunications, and still living out his military enjoyment, he re-enrolled in aMilitary Police Unit. This was a mere four days after he got married by a notary public/JOP. Jason was absentfrom his loving wife for a month. After this they moved back to Binghamton where he finished his AA degree, aswell as look for better job opportunities.

To Jason, a life style of being constantly on the move is like a competitive sport. He strives to be on top of thingsand not let the many responsibilities get the better of him. For instance, he would love to be active duty, but now, after being out of service since June 2000 with an Honorable Discharge, he has a son, wife and family to lookafter. Jason likes simple things in life, from the Perseids meteor showers in August, to a sunset and a "gibbus"moon. Cool air and stress free days which come far and few in-between are in stark contrast to his life inCharlotte.

Like everyone, Jay is involved in the never-ending, "why in god's name am I here" scenario. He knows themeaning of life isn't to work for his employer of five years, or selling his company's product door to door. "Ienjoy my job, enjoy interacting with people, but at whose expense?" Jay wants to be remembered, even after hisdemise. He understands and accepts that those who he is less intimate with will only remember him for a shorttime but he wants more to his existence than that. He knows that life goes on. "I seek independence and wealth,"he says, though it isn't just for the amount of money he might someday acquire, but for the freedom to make hisown decisions. He wants to be able to celebrate life and the family togetherness that he has come to love. Hefeels he missed that in his own adolescence and early years and so finds it comforting to experience it with hispresent family. "Being independent," he adds, "gives one the opportunity to travel, see the world, and most of allto be able to do it with the ones you love."

As mentioned before, Jay is also searching for the meaning of life. "At twenty-eight I have been given theopportunity to choose my own religion. Through my college days I was a Darwinist, which satisfied mecompletely. I still think I lean that way today, but with the understanding that Darwinist theory could coincidewith the idea of spirituality and a godly being." Jay adds, "God gave us and our ancestors the ability to reason. The decisions they made lead our civilization - to where we are today. Consequently, our decisions will shape thefuture for our descendants." Jason believes the idea of "God" can be justified by faith, and adds, "The faith thatwhen the light switch is turned off here, it is turned on in the afterlife."

She then attended West Middle School for grades 6th, 7th, and 8th and then went to Auburn High Schooluntil the middle of ninth grade."Auburn was a half good and half bad experience," says Erin. "I felt like I grew up the most in dealing withfriendship problems and finding out who I was." It was during this time that Erin's Stepfather's job wastransferred back down state to the "Triple Cities" (Binghamton, Johnson City, and Endicott)."My family moved to Endicott, NY two days before the blizzard of 1993. I finished Senior High School at UnionEndicott High School (UE) and graduated in 1996. My high school years were memorable but I wish I hadenjoyed them more." Erin was happy her family made the move back to the Triple City area. She felt like it gaveher a new beginning. Said Erin:"I feel like I've grown up so much in this town, and I consider this my home town and would like to die in thiscounty." Erin enrolled, after High School, in Broome Community College (BCC) a community college, whereshe completed an Associate's Degree in Individual Studies of Mental Health. This is also where, in 1997, she mether future husband, Scott Niles. Erin had every intention to obtain her degree in Psychology, but as life wouldhave it, she changed paths after she graduated from BCC and continued school at SUNY Cortland in theirteaching program."I completed two term's at Cortland,' said Erin, "and then, in the year 2000, I decided to marry Scott Niles.Marrying Scott resulted in us having our wonderful son, Jacob Thomas Niles on January 27th 2001."

Presently, Erin has, once again, shown the tenacity that seems to be part of the family trait, which, when it comesto continuing education, is to try and try again as she has started yet another program at BCC in its two-yearRadiology program.

"As well as being a part-time student, I am also enjoying every challenging moment being a mother to Jacob and awife to Scott." Erin's ambition is endless, as she has set her mind down to the triple task of completing anotherdegree, being a wife, a mother, and of course, working (hopefully) on another child.

Scott left the army in 1997 and returnedto Owego. It was during this time that Scott attended Broome Community College (BCC) and was workingtowards a degree in business. It was while he was at BCC that Scott met his future wife, Erin Klugh, and wasoffered a well paying job at Time Warner Cable, and so as with all life's changes, school was placed on a backburner to be resurrected at a future time.

Recently, Scott was promoted from field sales to a more senior position. A hard worker, Scott's ambitions are tobe successful at his career, and to be as supportive as possible to his family.
