He married MARIA CATHARINE WALRATH 1737, daughter of HEINRICH WALRATH and ANNA MATHEUS. She was born 1714 in Stone Arabia, Montgomery County, New York, and died Bef. 1807 in St. Johnsville, Montgomery County New York.

George Klock Sr, lived near the banks of Crum Creek on the flats of the Mohawk on the north side of the river and but a short distance away from the upper Canajoharie Castle of the Mohawk, which was then located where the present Indian Castle now is. The activities of this man would fill a volumn of interesting reading. Little has been said of him but what was defamatory. Probably no man in the Mohawk valley achieved greater notoriety that he in his quarrel with his arch enemy Sir William Johnson, when the vituperations of the latter was heaped upon him when that gentleman sought to wrest the land from him and acquire it for himself.

George Klock has left no written pages to tell his side of the story but in the "Sir William Johnson Papers", and Colonial Documents, one can find the reason and result of this battle for land between the two. On one side was arrayed the mighty Sir William Johnson, then at the height of his fame and power, backed by the throne of England with the multiramifications of intrigue and deceit among those who sat high in power at the time, aided and abetted by certain ones among his redskinned consorts. His castigation of George Klock was mercilessas merciless in its intensity as was the venom of his son Sir John, when that ruthless miscreant rent the fair valley of the Mohawk asunder with his deeds of violence and bloodshed.

Pitted against this array of might and power was this impassive man of the Mohawk country, "Old George Klock", Mohawk valley Dutchman and farmer, whom Sir William said "ought to be hung". But against the tremendous odds that confronted him, this stout hearted Dutchman, George Klock, never faltered, but faced Sir William and his bastard brood of half breeds, and in the end retained then land which he had fought for long after Sir William had passed away, and Mollie Brant, his copper hued paramour had left the valley never to return.

Of the moral character of the two men, Sir William Johnson the educated and highly gifted man of affairs, and

George Klock the lowly Dutch farmer, little need be said. All we know of the character of George Klock, has come from the pen of Sir William himself, an the writers who have come along since have enlarged upon that to such an extent that the name of George Klock is synonymous with nearly all the villainy with which mankind is possessed. Sir William has said that he made the Indians drunk to obtain their signatures to certain deeds of land. But it must be remembered that these same Indians petitioned the Crown to let him have the land, that King Hendrick their chief protested vigorously against the use of rum amongst his people, and implored the officials not to let it come into the valley. George Klock lived as a neighbor to the warlike Mohawks, and lived in peace, even as Hendrick his father had before him, and their friendly relations with the Klock family seems not to have grown less over the quarrel between Sir William and a member of that family.

History has recorded enough of the moral character of Sir William Johnson to dim a life that otherwise might have been filled with a greatness that would have otherwise might have been filled with a greatness that would have been a shining example to those who came after. Certain writers have sought to gloss over his misdoing, but the fact remains that he was just about the most licentious and polygamous mortal that ever invested the Mohawk valley. Such was the man who defamed the name of George Klock. Sir William Johnson, whom Lossing the historian says was the father of a hundred children, chiefly by native mothers, whom he brought into this world by his adulterous intercourse with the comely wives of Indian braves, and virgin maidens alike. So again we say, such was the man who defamed the name of this muchmaligned man of the Mohawk, George Klock.

Little in history is recorded of him, but he probably was the most prominent man in that vicinity when the Revolutionary war broke. That he allied himself with the cause need not be questioned, and that he gave freely to it cannot be doubted. He was a large landholder, and his holdings comprised many thousand of acres. In 1754, he and William Nellis Jr. obtained some 16,000 acres, which was known as the "Klock and Nellis Patent". This was to provide homes for the growing pioneer families, who were not afraid to hew a home out of the forest even amid the scenes of Indian warfare that was then being carried on between the colonies of England and France all about them.

The above was written by Sherman O. Klock. From reading his genealogy and his unpublished work, "Reminiscences" of Sherman O. Klock, I find Sherman was very passionate about his genealogy, his research and what he claims was "bad rap" history has given Old George Klock. Sir William Johnson, no doubt, did a lot of good things. "Old George" left no writing to tell his side of the story and all we have is the writings of Sir William for history to "judge" this man. Old George should not be judged totally by the writings of Sir William Johnson, as there two men were bitter enemies. Both these men were prominent men in the valley, large landholders, and both had the same goal, to accrue as much land as possible. I think the truth lies somewhere in the middle of this controversy, as both were relentless in their attempt to acquire land. George Klock may not have had the education of that of Sir William, but he was not a lowly Dutch farmer. He was a wealthy Dutch farmer with his own addenda, to become the richest man in the valley regardless of whose toes he had to steped on to accomplish this goal.

Jacob G. Klock was born March 9, 1738, died Sept 19, 1814, married 1st. April 7, 1763, Anna Nellis, daughter of Christian Nellis.

Jacob G. Klock married 2nd, Maritje Beekman, born in Kingston, N.Y. Jan. 16, 1758, died May 3, 1836. They were married Sept. 30, 1784. She was the daughter of Cornelius Beekman and Catrina Schoomaker the daughter of Hendrick Schoomaker and Tryntje Osterout. Catrina was born March 13, 1736. Cornelius Beekman ws born Sept. 3, 1733, and was the 8th child of Thomas Beekman and Maria Wynkoop and Judickje Bloodgood.

Thomas Beekman, born April 13, 1689 at New York, died in Kingston July 11, 1759, married Maria Wynkoop, Jan. 14, 1715, at Kinston, N.Y. He was the son of Johannes Beekman, baptised Nov. 22, 1656, and Aeltja Thomas Popinga, who he married in New York March 4, 1685. She was the daughter of Thomas Laurensen Popinga from Groeninger, and widow Haritje Jans.

Johannes Beekman was the son of William Beekman born April 28, 1623 at Hasselt in Oberyssal, died Sept. 21, 1707, and Catalint De Boog from Amsterdam, whom he married Sept 5, 1649 in New York. SHe was the daughter of Hendrick De Boog and ______Stagboom.

William Beekman was the son of Hendrick Beekman born Sept. 14, 1585 and who lived at Keulen. He was married three times, Most of descendants are form his 2nd. wife, Maria Baudartins (posibly the present day Bauder) the daugher of the Rev. William Baudertins.

Maria Beekman, babtised June 26, 1650, was a daughter of the above Hendrick Beekman. She was the lst. wife of Nicholas Stuyvesant, son of Gov. Peter Stuyvesant, who she married May 5, 1672. She died before 1681.

Jacob G. Klock was the man whoes name appered on the Oriskany Monument from the time of its erection, and dedication which occured August 6, 1884, till the 150th anniversary August 6, 1927, when the initial G. was erased, leaving it as it should be, Col. Jacob Klock. (see line of Jacob Klock (No. 4)

I find no record of Jacob G. Klock having served either as an officer or private in the Revolution. This may be due to the fact that when the trying days of 1776 came, and a state government was formed the following year, and when the assembly met at Kingston in September of that year, he was there as representative from Tryon county. This was a month after the battle of Oriskany was fought, and while he may have taken part in that battle, there is no evidence to sho that he did. Probably his oncoming duties as the representative of Tyron county prevented him from being there. Nothing else I am sure would have prevented it, for there is no question about his patriotism. Had he been otherwise he wouldn't have been called to represent the patriots of Tyron county.

He served in that capacity untill the year 1784, Besides being senator for the western district, he was made one of the four Commissioners of forfeiturre for the western district, whic comprised Albany and Tyron counties. He served in this capacity for October 22, 1779 until March 21, 1788, when the offfice was abolished. This too, was a very important office. On Feburary 2, 1778, he was apointed Judge of Montgomery county, which was changed from Tyron to Montgomery, in resentment of the Colonial Governer Tyron, and in honor of General Montgomery. He served in this capacity as late May 1, 1887, when he appeared at the proof of the will of his uncle Johannes, the son of Hendrick first settler. And again we find him as commissioner of highways in the year 1786. This too was a most important commission at that time.

Had George Klock, his father, been as villainous as painted by Sir William Johnson, this son would hardly have been selected to fill the important positions he did. Reared as he was in a wilderness filled with wild beasts, and within sight of the village of the Mohawks across the river from his rede habitation, he seems somehow to have received a better education than most of those of his day. He was an excellent penman, as numerous papers, bearing his writing, in my posession show. He also belonged to the Masonic lodge.

The following is from the SOK Genealogy: George G. Klock, born Nov. 12, 1742, died July 26, 1834, married July 10, 1766, Catherine Bellinger, born Sept. 16, 1748, died July 11, 1827, the daughter of Johan Jost Bellinger, born Feb. 4, 1712, who married Oct. 20, 1733, Sophia, the daughter of Johannes Lawyer, the surveyor and proprietor of Lawyer's Patent. Johan Jost Bellinger was the son of Markus, soldier of the War of 1711. The only son of Jost and Sophia was John Lawyer Bellinger who married Margaret, the daughter of George Klock.

George G. Klock was a private in the regiment of his uncle, Col. Jacob Klock, and as such undoubtably saw much service in the Revolution. He sees to have inherited much of his fathers estate, and became known as one of the wealthiest land owners in central New York. Just where he lived at the time of the war we do not know, but after that strife had ended we find him located to the east of the East Canada Creek, and in close proximity to the present homestead of Silbert Klock a greatgreat grand son. Silbert Klock has the deed of this tract of land which originally contained 800 acres I beleive, and which was granted to George Klock Sr. during the reign of King George, and which bears the several signatures of chiefs of the Mohawks, who drew on the parchment the figures representing their clans, such as the "Turtle", "Bear", "Wolf" ect. This remarkable document was well preserved when the writer saw it, the crude drawings of the Indians standing out as clearly as when they were made a century and a half ago.

The portion of this tract which contains the farm and residence of Silbert Klock, has never been out of the possession of some one of this family since the land was granted, and today is one of the finest homesteads in the Mohawk Valley. George G. Klock and his wife Catherine are buried in the family plot on the farm of Silbert Klock, and can noted by their tombstones therein. The funeral of George was held at 10 A.M. Monday July 28, 1834, and the sermon was preached by the Rev. Mason, from the text 1st. Samuel, 20 chapter and 3rd verse. He was survived by 10 children, 80 grandchildren and 81 great grand children.

The Family Register of George Nellis has George G. Klock and Catharine Bellinger with 16 Children; Peggy, Joseph, Sophia, Caty, Jacob, George, John, Henry, Hannah, David, Caty, Peter, Elizabeth, Polly Caty, (another Caty) and Evaline.

The Late Irving Klock Some Reminiscences of the Family of Which He Was a Member

St. Johnsville, April 23, Irving Klock whose tragic death occurred at Little Falls Wednesday, was well known here. He was a great grandson of George Klock, the well known revolutionary patroit of that name. Colonel George Klock resided between West St. Johnsville and East Creek, the house and part of the farm being in possession of Ray Hilldebrant, who wife a granddaughter of George Timmerman, the former propretor and one of the most prominent of St. Johnsville's farmers in his day. Considerable of the farm, however, belongs to Silbert Klock, son of the late Hiram Klock, who was a son of John B. Klock, son of Colonel George Klock. Other children of John B. Klock were; Rueben, father of deceased; David, who resided in Danube; Mrs. Henry P. Bellinger of St. Johnsville; Mrs. Henry D. Elwood of Florida, Montgomery County; Mrs. Charles Walrath of Onieda, and Elizabeth, who lived single. Rueben resided in the eastern part of Danubeand was one of the substantial men of that town. He died about 1897. His wife, who survived him a few years, was Barbara A., daughter of Phillip C. Bellinger of Danube. Christian, Phillips father, came from what is now the town of Root, the Bellingers have been among the earliest settlers in the valley, Christian came during the latter years of the 18th century. Although quite young at the time he had a record as a soldier of the Revolution. His wife was Barbara Devendorf, a lady belonging to a numerous connection among the Palatine settlers, Phillip (died February,1872), was at one time the largest property holder in Danube. His wife, a lady of the Zimmerman family, died a few years before himself. Phillip C. Bellinger is still remembered by those who had dealings with him as a man of unimpeachable integrity, whose word was as good as his bond. Mr. and Mrs. Bellinger were the parents of ten children, all of whom survived them. A few years ago one of the ten, Gertrude, wife of J.M. Bellinger of Currytown, died. Other children of Christian and Barbara Billinger were: Jacob Billinger and Mrs. Peter Sharp of the town of Little Falls, Mrs. Conrad Mowers of Stark, Mrs. Conrad Snell of Danube and Mrs. Abraham Snell of Minden. Phillip C. Bellinger and his soninlaw, Reuben Klock, had many points in common. Both were hard working, thrifty farmers, who achieved financial success in their calling, both were unswerving Democrats, without taste for political manipulation or greed for official distinction and both held to the tents of the Universalist school in theology. Reuben Klock settled in the eastern part of Danube, not far from the Minden postoffice, and resided until his decease. Mrs. Klock also remaining there until she passed on a few years later. On the decease of his parents, Irving Klock came into possession of the home farm. A few years later an invalid sister, the only unmarried one of the family, passed away, leaving him quite alone in the world he married Mrs. Peeler, widow of John Peeler (died 1896) of East Creek. Having no children to assist him he decided to retire from active labor and leasing the farm removed to Little Falls. He is survived by three brothers, Bryon of Fall Hill, Danube, Elmer, who resides in Danube, near Minden, and Walter, who is an invalid, and three sisters, Iantha, widow of Charles M. Zoller of Minden; Mary G., wife of George W. Spoor of Newville and Alice, wife of Fraser Showerman of Minden. Another brother, Emmett, who resided in Minden, opposite St. Johnsville, died there (where his family still resides), a few years ago. Another child died in infancy. Like his father, deceased was a Democrat politically, and a Universalist theologically. Other relatives are Frank P. Klck of First National Bank of St. Johnsville; Walter Elwood, who had a position in the educational work in the Philippines; Emery Bellinger of Sylvan Beach; Otto Bellinger of Los Angeles, Cal.; George P. Bellinger , exsupervisor of Danube, and Earl J.

I found this newspaper clipping in the Library in Johnstown. In this article they call George Klock, Colonel George Klock. George G. Klock was a private in the Tryon County Militia under his Uncle, Col. Jacob Klock. He may have been called or nicknamed Colonel. He married Catherine Bellinger. The Family Register of George Nellis has George G. Klock and Catharine Bellinger with 16 Children. I have him with 13 children.

David in turn was the son of Peter and Jane Ten Broeck Quackenboss married Dec. 24, 1602. Peter was in turn the son of Jacob. Jacob in turn was the son of Walter and a ? Brumer, who was the grand daughter of Annake Jans.

Notes for EBENEZER COX: Ebenezer Cox was a Col. in the Revolutionary War and was one of the first to fall in the ambush at Oriskany, New

York.

From the SOK Genealogy: Elizabeth Klock born________ (while her birth is recorded in Vol 1, page 9, Stone Arabia Reformed Dutch Church records, the date is missing. But from entries preceding it, and those that come directly after, it is safe to say that her birth was between the years 1744, and 1748. She died_______.

Simms the historian says that Ebenezer Cox, married Margaret Klock, but the one who recorded the marriage of Ebenezer in the Stone Arabia church books set her name down as Elizabeth, and so say others related to her by descent. Of the ancestery of this man, or the time of their coming to this country, the writer knows nothing at all. However, when the war dogs of Mars were let loose at the begining of the Revolution we find him living in Minden, probably on land belonging to his fatherinlaw, George Klock Sr., and in close proximity th the upper castle of the Mohawks.

With the promotion of Nicholas Herkimer from Colonel to the 1st Regiment (Canajoharie) of Tyron county militia, to the highest command of the entire four regiments which comprised it, Cox who then was a Leiut. in the Canajoharie regiment, was made a Colonel. Tradition says that he was a man of powerful build, swarthy of complexion and utterly fearless: one can readily beleive all that, and too. that he was blunt in his speech, and rash and impetuour in manner. He went with his commander to Unadilla, when the latter went there to hold a conference with Joseph Brant, the Indian chieftain, who was ten begining his career of murder and distruction.

At a meeting held at the camp of General Herkimer, between himself and Brant, and a number of their respective followers, Cox it is said almost caused a clash between the Indians and Herkimer's force, by his sarcastic remarks to Brant, with whom he had quarrled some years before. This hostility between them was probably engendered by the bitter feeling between Sir. William Johnson and George Klock Sr. over a contest for the land titles a few year before. Be that as it may, his hot words flung in the face of Brant at such a time, made him a marked man and sounded his death knell, and he probably knew it.

Yet on the morning of the 6th. of August, 1777, we find him no less caustic in his talk with his General, who, when he could no longer bear the taunts of disloyality and cowardice, gave the order for his little army to march. And march they didstraight into the fatal revine at Oriskany. The regiment of Colonel Cox was the first to enter, followed by Col. Klock, Col. Visscher, and John Joseph Herkimer the Colonel commanding the 4th battalion. Down the slope and out upon the rough corduroy road that led across the swampy ground they went in safty, quite unconscious that danger lurked so near at hand, when the ari was rent by the terrifying and demoralizing war whoops of a thousand dusky foemen thirsting for their blood.

History has revealed but little concerning this bloody encounter in which nearly half of those engaged were killed or wounded. But it is quite likely that when Colonel Cox marched out on the causeway, more that one pair of beady eyes had marked him for death, at the command of Brant, and he probably fell at the first withering discharge from the guns of the concealed foe. Like others who perished there that dreadful day, the body of Colonel Cox was never recovered, but lay as it fell, prehaps to be mangled later by savage beast or bird of prey, and finally to become returned to earth by the elements which surrounded it. Such was the fate of this brave and impetuous man who gave his all for his country.

Information on the Walrath Family is from the Internet. Jerome A. Walrath, whose line goes back to James H. Walrath, son of William P. & Lydia (Dey) Walrath. James H. was a grandson of Peter H. Walrath & Anna Eva (Helligas) Walrath, who are buried in Robinson Farm Cemetery, also known as the Coleman Cemetery in the town of Canajoharie, Montgomery County, NY. Walrath and its spelling variations is one of the earliest and most widespread surnames in the Mohawk Valley.

SOK Genealogy: They lived 1and 1/2 miles west of Palatine Bridge on the old turnpike road, on the farm that has since been known as the "Ehle farm" Henrich Walrath, and we think Catherine also is buried there. The tombstone of Henrich may be seen from the road. Time has effaced the letterine, so no dates tell the time of birth, or age at the time of death. The first child born to Henrich and Catherine that we find any record of, is Audolph, born April 4, 1767, and baptised on the same day. (Stone Arabia Reformed church record. Vol. 1, page 26.) Johannes Walrath, and Margaret Klock, who we assume was the sister of Catherine, and who later married Johannes Lawyer Bellinger, the son of Johan Jost Bellinger, and Sophia Lawyer, the daughter of Johannes Lawyer, the surveyor who was a proprietor of the "Lawyer Patent" acted as sponsors. If Audolph was the first child, and Catherine married at the conventional age, then she must have been born in the year 1739 or 1740, which would place her between Jacob and George G.. This however is conjectural as there may have been children born before Audolph, and she then would come before Jacob G., born March 9, 1738.

Notes for JACOB I. KLOCK: Jacob I. Klock lived on a farm a mile or more to the east of St. Johnsville, N.Y., on a road leading north from the

turnpike, Jacob I. is buried by himself by the side of this road, and but a short distance from their old homestead. Anna G. is buried in the old Klock burial ground near where the church stood in earley days.

Jacob was a member in the regiment of Col. Jacob Klock, and was at the battle of Oriskany. Simms the historian states that he was shot near or at Whites Creek by an enemy and that his horse turned and ran. But he does not say that Jacob did not regain control of the animal and return to his batallion. Jacob I. is said to have become disaffected during the last stages of the war, and joined a number of others who fled to Canada to unite with the British cause. There may have been a reason for his doing that, far different than the reason for the act would imply. What ever the truth may be his land was not confisicated, nor does his neighbors seem to have borne him any ill will.SOK

Christian Klock, after the death of Col. Jacob Klock in 1798, lived on the homestead farm of the Colonel who had willed it tho Christian's wife Eva, and who came into possesion of it upon her grand father death. The old dwelling place of the Colonel, which had witnessed many stirring scenes during the Revolution, and which had escaped the torch of the incendiaries who ran mad thoughtout the valley, was torn down about the year 1830, and a new house erected in its place; this building is still standing (1932) and is owned by the widow of the late Sheldon Klock, who bought the house and lot form the Snell estate. I might add that Sheldon Klock, was not closely related to Christian Klock, or his wife Eve, and did not inherit this property as has been said. Sheldon Klock married a Powell for his first wife, and the widow of John F. Klock for this second. The maiden name of his second wife was Lillian Richards, the daughter of Warren Richards.

Near this home, and perhaps on the very spot, Hendrick Klock the pioneer settler built his dwelling of logs not later than 1723, and near there he spent his remaining days. Near it onece stood the old Klock Church, and close by it the old Klock burial ground, where now lie many of name with unmarked graves. This Klock Church probably was built about 1750, and by Colonel Jacob Klock. Christian Klock served in the war of 1812 as Leiut. of the 1st. Regt. N.Y.S. militia.

SOK Genealogy: Benjamin Klock was a resident of the town of Danube, Herkimer county, N.Y. and lived for a time at least in the village of Newville. A PostOffice being established there about 1827, Benjamin Klock was apointed the first postmaster. He was then a merchant of that place. At the first town meeting held in the town, which was held on the 22nd day of April, 1828, he was elected its first Town Clerk, which office he held for the following years of 183235. Both he and his wife are buried in the Church St. Cemetery at Little Falls, N.Y.

Joseph G. Klock first married Dorthy Zimmerman, daughter of Lieut. Henry Zimmerman, born Jan. 10, 1738, died May 18, 1807, and Margaret Bellinger, born in 1752 and died in 1815. Joseph and Dorthy were married June 11, 1792. They had Margaret, who married John Beekman Klock; Daniel, who married Anna Devendorf; Catherien, who married David Klock; Eva, born June 6, 1799, died Dec. 12, 1802; Elizabeth, born Feb. 24, 1804.

Joseph G. Klock married a second time, Elizabeth Moyer, born April 12, 1771, died Aug. 14, 1809. No record of any children born to this union.

Joseph G. Klock's third marriage was to Christina Borst who was born May 18, 1777 and died May 14, 1817. Joseph G. and Christina Borst had Nancy who was born Jan. 15, 1810, died Aug. 7, 1824; Maria, who married Edwin E. Snell; James C., who died young; William, who died in infancy; Christina who married Isaac Finehaut, or "Finehart", and resided in Detroit, Mich. They had four children.

Joseph G. Klock married a forth time on May 14, 1818. He maried Elizabeth Devendorf Fox who was born Sept. 3, 1772, died Oct. 1, 1836. She was the widow of John Fox. To this union was born a daughter, Elizabeth Fox who married Nicholas Klock. Elizabeth died on her wedding day, and Nicholas Klock later married again to Lucinda Foster. Lucinda was the niece of the celebrated hunter and trapper, Nat Foster.

Joseph Klock was burried in Old Klock Cemetery along with his four wives. He was a trustee of the St. Johnsville Church in 1804. He was Senior Elder when the church was incorporated July 6, 1816. He was a Private in the Revolutionary War ( DAR 12851 ) in Col. Jacob Klock Regiment and a Captain in the war of 1812. ( Council of Appointments, Military Records form 1784 to 1821 Montgomery Co. NY.

Joseph G. Klock died in 1846 at the age of 77 years and 10 days. Joseph Klock and his four wives are buried in the old Klock burying ground a short distance east of Staint Johnsville, N.Y. The markers are rough field stone and lettered with a chisel, the given name of the wives being greatly abbreviated.

Marriage date taken from his Obituary at the time of his death in Freetown, N.Y. M.S.A. Timmerman of Watertown, N.Y. was alive at the time of Samuels death. In his obituary it states, "that Samuel was the son of Jacob, and grandson of George G. Klock, who in leased land days was one of the most extensive lease land holders between Utica and Albany."

From the Obituary in part: Dr. Willoughby ordered Samuel on the road for health a pure air. It thus occured that he wandered over to Freetown and became one of the pioneer settlers, buying in March 1837, the farm upon which he lived, with the exception of a few years, till the day of his death, at half past 9 o'clock in the morning of Jan 18, 1896.

He lived for about seven months in McGrawville, N.Y. becoming a member of the Presbyterian church of that place, July 8, 1885. Thence he removed to Auburn, N.Y. , where he lived for about three years, when he returned to his Freetown home to spend the remainder of his days.

The funeral services were conducted by Rev. J.J. Cowles, pastor of the Presbyterian church of McGrawville, N.Y. The bearers were Thomas Davidson, Harvey Z Tuttle, Joel Chrysler and Summerville Caldwell.

No children were born of the union of Samuel Klock and M.S.A. Timmerman.

19. GEORGE G. JR. 4 KLOCK (GEORGE G. 3 , JOHANGUERGH 2 , HENDRICK 1 ) was born January 12, 1775 in Stone Arabia, Montgomery Co., New York, and died October 24, 1836. He married NANCY KLOCK, daughter of JACOB KLOCK and ANNA KLOCK. She was born September 19, 1777.

He married ANNA EVA ZIMMERMAN April 29, 1802. She was born Abt. July 1784 in Manheim, Herkimer Co., New York, and died June 09, 1853 in St. Johnville, Montgomery County New York.

Notes for JOHN BELLINGER KLOCK: They resided on a farm near the site where George Klock lived before the French and Indian War and which was known as "Fort House" during the Revolutionary war.
