Robert Welch was one ofBritain’s most respected andprolic designer craftsmen.He trained as a silversmithat Birmingham College of Artand then moved to the RoyalCollege of Ar t in 1952 wherehe specialised in stainlesssteel production design andunique designs in silver.

In 1965 he was awarded the title of Royal Designer forIndustry. His most importantcommissions are in museumcollections throughout theworld including the Victoria& Albert Museum and theBritish Museum, London and the Museum of Modern Art ,New York.
