    Kiss: Way of showing Love and Respect to one another

    The word kiss is mentioned through out the Bible. Generally when people talk about kissing between

    opposite sex we hear the words after marirage in the conversation. We are filled with the taughts

    where media influenced in our minds rather than what God expects us from us. Bible potrays kiss as the

    sign of love and respect for one another.

    Lip Kiss:kissing the lips by way of affectionate salutation was customary among near relatives of both

    sexes, both in patriarchal and in later times. : And Jacob kissed Rachel, and lifted up his voice, and

    wept." (Genesis 29:11) O that thou wert as my brother that sucked the breasts of my mother! When I

    should find thee without, I would kiss thee; yea, I should not be despised.(Song of Solomon 8:1). The

    kissing is in limited degree if it is between opposite sex.

    Kiss on Cheek:The kiss on cheek as a mark of respect or an act of salutation has at al times been

    customary in the east.

    Holy Kiss:In the chrisitan church the holy kiss or kiss of Love was practiced not only as a friendly

    salutation out as an act symbolical of love and Christian Brother hood. Greet one another with a holy

    kiss. All the churches of Christ send greetings. (Romans 16:1). All the brothers and sisters here send you

    greetings. Greet one another with a holy kiss. (1 Corinthians 16:20); Greet one another with a holy kiss (

    2 Corinthains 13:12). Greet all holy people with a holy kiss (1 Thessalonians 5:26). Greet one another

    with a kiss of love. Peace to all of you who are in Christ.(1 peter 5:14)

    Kiss as salutation: It was emboided in the early chrisitan offices and has been continued in some of

    those now in us. Among the arabs women and children kiss the beards of their husbands or fathers. The

    husband or father returns the salute by a kiss on their fore head.

    Kissing the hand: In Egypt an inferior kiss the hand of the superior generally on the back of hand, but

    some times as a special favor on the palms also.

    Kissing the feet: To testify object sumission and in asking favours, the feet are often kissed instead of

    hand.

    Kissing the decree:The written decrees of a sovereign are kissed in token of respect even the ground in

    some time kisseed by orientals in the return of their submission. "You shall be in charge of my palace,

    and all my people are to submit to your orders. Only with respect to the throne will I be greater than

    you" (Genesis 41:40)

    Kissing which is spoken of media, Hollywood or in terms of flirting as a mark of respect or adoration

    given to idols which is not recommended between of same sex and are of opposite sex. Yet I reserve

    seven thousand in Israel--all whose knees have not bowed down to Baal and whose mouths have not

    kissed him (1 kings 19:18). Now they sin more and more; they make idols for themselves from their

    silver, cleverly fashioned images, all of them the work of craftsmen. It is said of these people, "They

    offer human sacrifices! They kiss calf-idols!"(Hosea 13:12). Kiss with respecting each other is scriptural.
