Adam Grun~Take A BowAdam Grun may su er from the classic middle child syndrome of “look at me!”. Born and raised in Floris-sant, he is one of four children. He has two older sisters and a younger brother. His father had a forty plus year career as an engineer at Boeing and his mother was an oncology nurse. Adam attended Catholic Schools: North American Martyrs for his elementary years and St. " omas Aquinas for high school. Adam did point out that schools he attends have a tendency to close down. He attended the University of Missouri, St. Louis, for his bachelor degree, and he is happy to report they are still going strong. He received a degree in Marketing with an interest in pursuing a career in Market Research. He attended UMSL full time while working 35 hours a week. He held a variety of positions including being a maintenance man for an o# ce building and working for a local lumber yard. His favorite work was when the Christmas tree lot was open! Adam’s $ rst job a% er his studies was with Knights Direct in corporate training. In 2008, he joined the Brown Shoe Company as a web analyst and has recently moved into their email marketing area.In high school, Adam was a committed football player as center for the Varsity team. It was his friend and still

cohort, Kris Ramsey, who helped Adam explore expressing himself through the arts. Together they hosted a school video morning news announcement show, and it was Kris that convinced him to try out for the school One Acts. His $ rst role was the bad guy role in Fools. So this was the beginning of a Adam’s theatrical experiences. Lucky for Adam, his high school program introduced him to Amy Arnott and Tim Grumich. " rough them Adam was introduced to the theatre company Act, Inc. He was invited to work as a tech for them; it was the beginning of a long relationship. He has held many positions and onstage roles and has been on their board since 2000. Kris Ramsey has had an additional in& uence on Adam’s path. When Chris returned to St. Louis in 2002 he encouraged Adam to join him at City Improv. He auditioned and began performing regularly with the group. He grew to love improv and realized that not only was it fun it really helped him develop his acting skills. Meanwhile, Adam began directing shows. Initially, he was invited back to St. " omas Aquinas to direct student productions. In his mind, working on these shows was a way to “pay his dues” and build his directing skills. He $ nds direct-ing to be very satisfying. He enjoys helping actors to be as real as possible on stage. He has directed for both " e Hawthorne Players and for KTG. He has received a great deal of recognition for his work on " e Producers; not only the Arts for Life Best Performance Awards but from the greater St. Louis theatre community. He still enjoys being a part of the cast, as well. His favorite roles include Harold Hill in e Music Man, Le Fou in Beauty and the Beast, Tricky in Great Day in the Morning. Roles he would love to be considered for are Norman in e Boys Next Door and (of course) Edna Turnblatt in Hairspray. Adam is currently leading KTG’s new performing improve troop, Twisted Improv He is very excited that the group has moved to the point of regular performances which will begin in March. He hopes to increase the awareness of the fun and bene$ t of improv by continuing to teach classes and building a regular audience. For a $ nal word on this talented man, the expert on the subject would have to be his adorable seven year old daughter, Molly. Who says, “My Daddy is nice, silly and loving”. " at really sums it up!

! e Musical Comedy Murders of 1940by John Bishop

! e creative team responsible for a recent Broadway $ op (in which three chorus girls were murdered by the mysterious “Stage Door Slasher”) assemble for a backer’s audition of their new show at the Westchester estate of a wealthy “angel.” ! e house is re-plete with sliding panels, secret passageways and a German maid who is apparently four di# erent people—all of which " gure dia-bolically in the comic mayhem which follows when the infamous “Slasher” makes his reappearance and strikes again—and again. As the composer, lyricist, actors and director prepare their performance, and a blizzard cuts o# any possible retreat, bodies start to drop in plain sight, knives spring out of nowhere, masked " gures drag their victims behind swiveling bookcases, and accusing " ngers point in all directions. However, and with no thanks to the bumbling police inspector who snowshoes in to investigate, the mystery is solved in the nick of time and the “Slasher” unmasked—but not before the audience has been treated to a sidesplitting good time and a generous serving of the author’s biting, satiric and refreshingly irreverent wit.
