Great Moments for Cheering
– Get there early and cheer for each group that
comes out to warm-up during pregame. We
start one hour before game time
– When warm-up ends, get up and cheer again
as the team leaves the field – usually 15-20
minutes before game time
Guide to Being a Great Fan cont
– When you see the team come out of the
locker room, bring them out with an
ovation/cheering. Chants are great for this,
for example “KINGWOOD” or “MUSTANGS”,
or anything else you can come up with. As
the team takes the field, the chanting/cheering
gets louder.
– Stand and cheer/chant during every
Kickoff/Kickoff Return
Guide to Being a Great Fan cont
Defense
– Cheer every tackle. Big, Crowd cheering for
sacks, tackles for loss/no gain, exceptional
plays and pass break ups
– Every third down should be met with
cheering/chanting. EVERY 3RD DOWN!!!
– It should go without saying that 4th Down is
just as important, if not more
Guide to Being a Great Fan cont
Offense
– It is best to cheer for 1st Downs and Big Plays
(Usually those that are 10 yards or more)
– General practice is to chant/cheer in between
plays. Lower the level of cheering once the
offense breaks the huddle until the play starts.
– Same as defense, 3rd and 4th Downs can be
extra intense. Feel free to express your
excitement.

perform cheers but they can only lead if people
follow. So let’s follow
