THE STORY
The Kingsland Boutique
Lin Kingsrød
The Longnies Hong Kong Masters took place
in March this year. We are very proud to have
been part of this 1st class competition as one
of the official sponsors. Kingsland delivered
clothes to everyone working at the event.
Some of the world’s best riders were present
in Hong Kong and with big names like Marcus
Ehning, Marco Kutscher, Ludger Beerbaum
and Edwina Tops Alexander, the spectators
got the best equestrian entertainment they
could wish for.
The Kingsland team was well represented at
the LKHM with no less than three team riders;
Marcus Ehning, Judy Ann Melchior and local
Hong Kong rider Kenneth Cheng. Our riders
had a great weekend in Hong Kong with
several super results. Both Judy Ann and
Marcus had many double clears and Marcus
was placed second in the Gucci Gold Cup on
Friday March 1st.
“It´s really great to be here in Asia. A
fantastic show and its great that Kingsland is
here. We are like a big family when we travel
and I think it´s great to have them all here”Marcus Ehning
The big winner of the Hong Kong Masters
was Patrice Delaveau who took home the
victory in both the Gucci Gold Cup and the
Longines Grand Prix class. The two wins
secured Delaveau respectively $122.500 and
$700.000 so the excitement and competition
between the riders was palpable with such
high amounts “at stake”.
In the event village the visitors had lots of
shops and restaurant to choose from with
brand names like Gucci, Leica, Guggenau,
Dyón and last but not least Kingsland. The
Kingsland store was busy from the event
opened in the morning till late at night. We
are so pleased to see the response from the
Asian market, in which we have invested a
lot the last year. Nothing makes us happier
than being able to provide riders from all
over the world with clothing and equipment.
The response from our costumers was
overwhelming and we have faith in the future
growth in the Asian equestrian market.
We are currently working on a web-shop for
Asia and with our new warehouse in China
we will be able to provide goods fast and
efficiently throughout the region. It is positive
to see the development the equestrian sport
has all over Asia and it´s important for us to
be present as a main distributor of equestrian
fashion and apparel.
“We are very pleased to see the response from the
Asian market. This event has been a success for us
and we take pride in being part of the Longines
Hong Kong Masters”Marketing Manager, Kristin Faureng
“ It´s great that our riders do such a good job at big international events like the Longines Hong Kong Masters” Marketing Manager, Kristin Faureng

The Kingsland team of riders has grown
strong during the last few years. We are
proud to have some of the biggest names in
the sport representing our brand.
As one of the first brands actively placing our
products on well-known riders we have made
sure that we have been visible on all arenas of
the equestrian sport.
“Our riders are role models and it is
important for us that our costumers see our
clothes on people they can look up to”Founder of Kingsland, lin Kingsrød
…persistence and perfectionism have served me well in this sport…
Marcus Ehning, one of the biggest names
in the show jumping world is part of the
Kingsland team of riders. We are incredibly
pleased to have him representing Kingsland
the way he does.
“Marcus is an inspiration for riders all over
the world, at all levels. His technique and his
results tell the story”Marketing Manager, Kristin Faureng
starting his riding career at the local riding
club in Borken, Germany at the age of seven
Marcus has grown to be a professional rider
ranked amongst the top riders in the world.
Marcus tells us that the most supportive and
influential people in his career have been his
family and his trainers.
“My family has always been behind me. I can
count on their support, help and advice. Lutz
Merkel was my trainer during the pony years
and Fritz Ligges during my junior and young
rider time. Ludger Beerbaum helped me after
that. He had been riding at a professional level
for some time when I started my career”Marcus Ehning
The list of prizes and accomplishments
Marcus has earned is too long to list, but
when asked about the highlights of his career
so far he emphasizes the olympic Gold
medal he won with the German team in the
2000 sydney olympics, the two World Cup
finals in 2003 and 2006 and of course the
German team Gold Medal in the 2010 World
Championships in Kentucky.
Marcus is more or less a permanent fixture in
all the big international shows and he reveals
some of the secrets to getting to the level he
rides.
“The important thing is to choose a horse
that suits your riding, and also a trainer with
a lot of experience. You have to be patient and
work on the basics. Talent and a good eye for
distances are also necessary, but in the end you
need some luck as well. The most important
thing is to never give up!”

CERTIFIED PROTECTIONThe Lazio back protector is certified according
to motor cycle standards EN 1621-2. After
testing it has been approved at a level 2
security, the highest within this standard. It is not
approved as a safety vest.
“ Riders often wear no other protection than a helmet, but now riders have the option to ride with this fashionable and yet important
functional vest” Kingsland designer and founder, Lin Kingsrød.
HIGHER LEVEL OF RIDINGThe evolution of the equestrian sport is continuing
to take both horses and riders to higher levels.
Better horses and better riders demand more
difficult courses and more technical lines to ride.
“ A 1.60 course today is not what it was a few years ago. The course designers have to be incredibly creative to make the technical difficulty high enough as both horses and riders develop their skills. When pushing limits like this, we must also remember the risk of the sport we are involved in and use equipment accordingly to
this. For us safety always comes first” Kingsland designer and founder, Lin Kingsrød

As part of our Summer Season Update Collection
2013 we are proud to present the Lazio back
protector vest. At Kingsland we take safety very
seriously and hope this vest can inspire riders
around the world to use safety equipment every day.
We have used a lot of time developing the Lazio
back protector vest and we are pleased to finally
see the finished result being sent out to shops
world wide.
“ This protective vest makes it easy to include
safety in your every day riding”Kingsland designer and developer, Katrine Berge Klekken.
The Lazio back protector is a fleece vest with a
protective back implant. The implant is made in
collaboration with SAS-TEC who also makes safety
equipment for motor sports and skiing. The fabric in
the vest is breathable and very comfortable to use.
Several of our sponsored riders are using the vest
both for their daily riding and in shows.
“ I think it´s great that Kingsland have this focus on safety equipment. It´s important to remember that this is a high risk sport no
matter what level we ride at”Marcus Ehning
“ The Lazio vest has become a part of my day to day riding equipment. I also use it for shows
and it´s very comfortable to wear”Norwegian show jumper, Geir Gulliksen
SPINE PROTECTION The Lazio fleece vest gives the rider full freedom
of movement and flexibility when riding and at
the same time - full spinal protection. The vest
