Rachel Weaver Rivera
will lead a workshop to
introduce participants
to Fun, collaborative,
and creative methods.
No previous art
experience is required.

Wellness Studio for this exciting
program, Inside Art, hosted by
Megan Schaaf & Kathryn Price.

Wellness Studio.
Twice a month Inside Art
participants will be guided
through an artistic exercise
intended to address a variety of
emotional needs. No artistic
background is necessary to

Resident Council
Mr. Randy Snyder, President, called the May Council meeting to order at 9:15 am., Thursday, 26, 2016, in the Theater. 21 residents attended the meeting. Minutes of last meeting were approved. Barbara Kardas gave the treasurers report. A balance remains of $500.00 in the account. No activity was recorded in the account. John Grube, treasurer for KB’s Board of Directors addressed the group about management of finances. He is pleased with Terri’s management and the plans for construction that will occur this upcoming fiscal year. Our endowment is healthy and we can move forward with optimism. CEO Terri Bowen spoke about the pre-construction party Friday June 3. Please attend to see the final plans for the new front entrance, Bistro and offices. Terri will have her new office in what is now room 102 on the main floor. 16 Senior staff members from Mather Lifeways visited KB on the 20th. They enjoyed the tour of the Campus. Thank you to Woods and Godair residents who opened their homes to share with our visitors. They were very impressed with King Bruwaert and also enjoyed a delicious meal. Natalie from Life Enrichment summarized events for June. There will be many programs certain to delight residents on the Calendar. Jeri Cassin Purchasing Manager

addressed the group regarding the CAPS collection project to create a bench from recycled plastic. Please deposit caps in specially labeled boxes throughout the building. Assistance will be needed to sort and weigh caps. Contact Jeri at #9532 if you wish to help with this Green Group project. Maureen Klimek, Nursing Manager for the main House reported a new slogan to help all of us stay safe and avoid falling. ” Day and Night, Start to Finish , Use your cane or walker. Elise Bailey, lead Receptionist, gave instructions about walker safety when picking up mail at the front desk. Megan Schaaf, Social Worker asks everyone to contribute their views to the Resident and Family Satisfaction Survey. Karen Miller Senior Director of Nursing, provided information about POLST (Practice Order for Life Sustaining Treatment) a form more comprehensive then the older DNR form. Karen will host meetings to assist residents with information on filling out the POLST forms. Contact Karen at #9506. Chef Aaron let us know the Summer Menu created under the supervision of Dietician Jennifer Blievernicht, will be ready to taste on June 6th. Helene Lockhart reported of the Godair residents have returned. Godair Park will have quarterly meetings in the Woods Inn to address ideas, concerns, questions with the residents and staff. Marigolds were planted. Pond plantings are filling in and Patio gatherings are a great success. There are No Geese. The Godair Luncheon and BYOB party were well attended.

Resident Council meeting notes continued
Nancy Usher reported for the Woods. The suet stations are working well for the woodpeckers and keeping them away from the siding on houses. Decks have been repaired and painted. The Natural Area revitalization is proceeding with the upcoming removal of invasive plants. No Old Business. No New Business The dinner was won by Ollie Day. A motion was made to adjourn by D. Born, a 2nd by Tom Donlon. The next Resident Council will be on Thursday the 28h of July at 9:15 in the Theater.
