Development Environments we use

PROJECT ENVIRONMENTS

Development:

Each developer working on the project will have the local copy

All coding would be done in this environment, until initial developer testing is completed.

Upon completion this is released to Staging environment for internal QA

Staging / eGlobe Test environment:

This will be the replica of the live site in eGlobe Server

Once development is done, any completed task is updated to this environment for internal QA

Once QA is complete on this environment and approved by the Business Analyst, it will be released for Client review to UAT environment

PROJECT ENVIRONMENTS

UAT:This will be a replica of Live site, hosted in the similar server to the production environment. This environment is maintained to avoid any environmental issues once a given task goes live

Once QA is done on eGlobe Staging, any task would be released to UAT, where eGlobe will do initial QA

Live/Production

This is the Live environment that is open to intended users

All the approved tasks would be moved to Live on a pre-scheduled manner

Once approved by Business Analyst it will be submitted intimated to client review and approval

Once approved by client, given task would be marked as “Ready to go-live”

How we manage the work?

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

For maintenance projects, eGlobe normally works on weekly sprints unless the client prefers otherwise or if that isn’t found to be an ideal way for any given project. A typical project management would be done as detailed below:

Project is created in the Project-Management tool (eGlobe users Jira – unless partner prefers an alternative)

Our team is experienced in most of the major tools like Basecamp, Asana, Trello, etc.

eGlobe Business Analyst will enter all new requirements to PM tool into the backlog

BA will analyze and discuss with the client partner for any clarifications for the requirements in backlog

Priority for the requirements execution will be provided from the client side.

Any showstopper issues/bugs will be acted upon as priority by the team if raised.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT Both eGlobe & Client team would engage in a scheduled weekly meeting (or more frequently, as required), with the below agenda:

Evaluate work done on the past week

Discuss new requirements

Finalize deliverables for the week

Decide Priorities for the following week

Weekly Catch-up Meeting - Agenda

The to-dos for a given week would be finalized in this meeting

All the completed tasks would be demoed in the Test Environments and once approved it will be marked as “ready to go-live”

“Go-Live” of completed works would be pre-scheduled (normally once every week), based on the off-business hours of client.

Smoke Testing would be done by eGlobe in the Live site, and would be informed to client with the actions done.

eGlobe team would acknowledge until client team validates the go-live of the requirement

CODE MANAGEMENT

Unless client is using any alternatives to GIT, the entire codebase would be managed using GIT

Each user with access to the codebase would be having separate GIT access

All the code-level changes would be monitored by the Technical Lead of eGlobe (unless client prefer to evaluate code quality internally)

Only the changes approved by eGlobe Technical Lead would be reflecting in the test environment (UAT)

DEPLOYMENT MANAGEMENT

Unless client is using any alternatives to Capistrano, all the deployments to the eGlobe Test, client UAT and the Live site would be automated using Capistrano

Deployments would be managed by the Technical Lead of eGlobe, so that only one person would be responsible for the deployments
