Word of the Week: yesDear Kindergarten Families:

Snowflake the Elf appeared on the Smartboard last Wednesday, and the children are having fun finding her each morning! We write about where we find her in our Elf Journals. One way to motivate children to write, is to give them something exciting to write about! They will bring home a journal of her escapades before the holiday break.Language Arts: This week we will focus on the letter Ff and add the word yes Letters to review at home: Ss, Mm, Rr, Tt, Bb, Nn, Hh, Vv, Aa, Cc, Gg, Pp, Ff Sight Words: I, see, am, a, the, by, my, like, to, can, go, an, and, we, look, no, not,

at, love, here, on, yes“Juicy” vocabulary from Charlie Needs a Cloak: cozy, straight, evening, complete

We will talk and read about Santa, elves, and reindeer while continuing the practice of learning letters, sounds, and how each sound forms words. The next focus will be to write these sounds and words on paper. Math: We are focusing on 11-20, and we have a featured number each week. Last week it was 12, and you should have seen a “rainbow” 12 come home. On the back of that are ways we talk about that number (word, tally, number of items).
