If you are interested in the opportunity to
attend a ‘Women in Science Residential’
programme designed to encourage young
women to continue studying sciences, please
see the attached flier.
On Wednesday 30th January a group of year 9, 10 and 11 pupils who are either studying Drama for GCSE or considering it as an option visited the Theatre Royal in Norwich for a Royal Shakespeare Company performance of Romeo and Juliet. Pupils found it an enriching, exciting and riveting production and we hope to continue offering these opportunities. We will keep you posted!

The final game of the competition, between Kieron Read and Harry Funnell, was an absolute storm. Advantage passed from Kieron to Harry, back to Kieron, and the match is now so evenly poised that the game will restart at 1.00 next Monday, in room 37 - could go either way!
Mr Clark
This week’s answer was 540⁰.
Well Done to everyone who tried it.
New Problem coming soon….
On Friday 1st February, Tawny Owls class had a wonderful time designing and cooking
pizzas. We tasted some vegetables including courgette, spinach and tomatoes and used lots
of other ingredients to make a colourful, delicious pizza.

‘Murder on Platform Six’ is a murder mystery in the style of the classic crime fiction of the
1920’s and 1930’s. Set to a soundtrack of swing and jazz, the cast of over 50, accompanied
by a 17-piece orchestra, present a story unlike anything we have done at Litcham before.
Professor Ambrose Hamilton walks onto a railway carriage on platform 1 of St Pancras
Station, London and vanishes into thin air. Over 100 witness, including the prime minister
and police see him enter the carriage, but when, after a few seconds, a sound like a gunshot
comes from the carriage police rush on to find it empty. Investigations reveal no possible
additional exit from the carriage, and no hiding places. All windows are sealed and the only
door is the one the professor walked through.
Dead bodies, hidden motives and dark secrets all come to light, as the investigating team
grapple with the mystery of how a man can disappear seemingly into the ether. Is it the
result of an ancient Egyptian curse, or something rather more earthly?
There will be three performances of this show on Wednesday 13th, Thursday 14th and Friday 15th March in the school hall at 7.00pm. Tickets will be on sale from Monday 4th March in the school library. (Monday 4th and Tuesday 5th – cast and band priority, Wednesday 7th available to all) We look forward to seeing you there.

Sixth Forms will be conducting Year 11 interviews in school on the following dates.
Fakenham Sixth Form - Wednesday 6 th February
Dereham Sixth Form - Wednesday 13 th February
Students will be contacted directly with interview times.
Please find attached a draft copy of the GCSE timetable. There are a couple of things to bring to your attention:
Several afternoon examinations will start early, either at 13.00 or 13.15. This is to allow time for the examinations to run to completion (including any extra time) before students have to catch buses at 15.30.
Secondly, there is now a requirement that candidates are available to take exams up to and including Wednesday 26th June in case the exam boards decide to invoke their contingency plans due to either National or Local disruption to examinations. Candidates MUST remain available even if they have finished their own timetabled examinations.
