Welcome to the KidZone Newsletter

What is KidZone? KidZone is the name of the children’s work run by Church in the Peak (Matlock). KidZone’s aim is to help your child grow into and develop a personal relationship with Jesus. KidZone works with children aged between 5 and 11.

KidZone leaders are there to support the work that you are doing with your child and to make church an exciting place that your child wants to come to.

Pizza & Movie Night – 22nd March On Friday 22nd March, KidZone will be hosting a “Make your own Pizza and watch a movie” night. The event will start at 6pm at the Riverside and will last until 7:30pm.

The event will be free and we would like the kids to bring their friends along. The invitation includes a reply slip which we need completed and returned to us by the 17th March so that we can buy enough pizza toppings!

Cake Sale – Sun 21st April On Sunday 21st April, KidZone will be holding a Cake Sale. We would like the kids to make the cakes (with the appropriate adult supervision) and sell them.

The money raised will go towards the Yalova Project, supporting Iranian and Iraqi refugees in Turkey.

Other social activities We will be running other social activities in future. If your kids (or you!) have any ideas about activities that we could do – or if you would like to kelp us - please get in touch.

Care of County Hall Please remember that after KidZone has finished, the responsibility for looking after the children returns to their parents. Please could parents also be mindful of what their children are doing after the service. Please be aware that the grounds of County Hall include grassy areas, car parks and at least one pond. None of these areas are supervised and all are open to the public.

We all need to do our bit to take care of County Hall.

Now with more helpers each week.. As the number of children in KidZone increases, we have started having three adults serving KidZone each week. This means that we would like to ask…

…would you like to help us? If you would like to be involved in KidZone, we’d love to hear from you. We would really benefit from having extra leaders / helpers on the rota. Full training will be given and a DBS check (previously known as a CRB check) will be required. You don’t need to be a teacher. If you’re interested, please get in touch with Chris or Harriet (details below).

And please pray for us all Please join with us in praying for the kids (and the leaders) to grow in their walk with Jesus… …and for the leaders to continue to be inspired, week by week. :o)
