Kara’s Korner A Message from your Children’s Pastor— Rejoice under the Clouds, Rain is coming! Are you thirsty? Do you drink, and drink, and drink, and still find your- self with a thirst that seems unquenchable? I am thirsty! I have been thirsty for a while now. My thirst has not only been physical, but spiritual as well. I have been desper- ate to experience the Lord in a new way, a way that will quench this “unquenchable” thirst in my life! So, I have decided that my prayer for this season is “Lord, send the rain!” I think asking for rain in my life is perfect for the spring season. But, one has to remember that the rain comes in the storm clouds. When the storm clouds blow in, it is impor- tant to remember that the Lord is faithful, the Lord is constant, and the Lord is always there. Then, when the rain falls, it brings life to all that it touches. Many times I want the rain, but I don’t want the storm clouds. However, it is a season to rejoice under the clouds and wait ex- pectantly for the rain, the rain that causes a dreary flower to stand tall with life, the rain that causes the cracked ground to be fertile, the rain that causes grass to grow, trees to bloom, and life to be made new. Kara’s Korner A Message from your Children’s Pastor—

Rejoice under the Clouds, Rain is coming!

Are you thirsty? Do you drink, and drink, and drink, and still find your-self with a thirst that seems unquenchable? I am thirsty! I have been thirsty for a while now. My thirst has not only been physical, but spiritual as well. I have been desper-ate to experience the Lord in a new way, a way that will quench this “unquenchable” thirst in my life!

So, I have decided that my prayer for this season is “Lord, send the rain!” I think asking for rain in my life is perfect for the spring season. But, one has to remember that the rain

comes in the storm clouds. When the storm clouds blow in, it is impor-tant to remember that the Lord is faithful, the Lord is constant, and the Lord is always there. Then, when the rain falls, it brings life to all that it touches. Many times I want the rain, but I don’t want the storm clouds. However, it is a season to rejoice under the clouds and wait ex-pectantly for the rain, the rain that causes a dreary flower to stand tall with life, the rain that causes the cracked ground to be fertile, the rain that causes grass to grow, trees to bloom, and life to be made new.

Movie Review...The Princess and the Frog

I love fairy tales. I love a good love story, especially one with great music, animation, and a happily ever af-

ter ending. I recently watched Princess and the Frog, a new release from Disney. The movie is set in Jazz-

Age Era New Orleans. The Cajun accents are great and the jazz style music is even better.

Tiana, a girl who comes from a family that had to work hard to make ends meet, has a

dream that she and her father share of opening a restaurant. Even after her father

passes, Tiana continues to work two jobs and saves money, hoping to have enough to pur-

chase her own place for a restaurant. Finally, Tiana makes enough money for her restaurant

after cooking food for a party hosting Prince Naveen.

Unfortunately, things don’t go as planned and an evil, conniving voodoo magician, Dr. Facil-

ier, casts an evil spell, turning Prince Naveen into a frog and Tiana, following suit, upon kissing the frog royalty.

Although parts of the storyline are good, like pursuing ones dream, and working hard for ones money, I would not recommend it for children! The evil spirits working for Dr. Facilier are similar to demons, there is voodoo magic, palm reading, and other elements of witch-craft. I even found myself turning away when

the evil spirits would appear. There were scary, and very dark moments in the movie. Sorry kids, but Mrs.

Kara gives this a don’t see rating! Take it or leave it...that is my two sense!

For the Month of April, we are finishing our study over the Fruits of the Spirit.

Sunday, April 11: Jesus Defeats Death! We will finish part two of

our Easter series…”Death is de-

feated.” Kidmotion kids will learn

that Jesus defeated death and

now even though we die...we live if

we have accepted Jesus as the

Lord of our life!

Sunday, April 18: God is always good. Like Christ, we must dem-onstrate goodness to others. Acts

10:38 says, “Jesus went about do-

ing good.”

Sunday, April 25: Meekness is not a Weakness. “Teachable” is a great definition for meekness. Psalm 25:9 reads, “He guides the

humble in what is right and

teaches them His way.” Teachable

people inherit the blessing of God.

If we are teachable, and accept

instruction, we can avoid potential

destruction!

BABIES ON BOARD-Blooming in the Son!

In Babies on Board, our lit-tle ones are continuing to learn about Jesus being God’s Son. The babies are also learning that Jesus is Alive!

In the 2 year old class, our ba-bies are learning about Jesus visiting with the disciples and others after His Resurrection.

They will also learn that Jesus ascended into heaven and is preparing a home in heaven for them.
