Kara’s Korner A Message from your Children’s Pastor
I’m back and boy have things changed! Gary and I love, love, love being parents. I never thought I would find such joy in burps, bowel movements, and spit up! Gary and I rejoice when Judah burps within 5 minutes, and are so glad when he goes potty! Judah is an abso-lute delight. He makes my heart smile. The kids at Crossroads have given Judah the best Welcome.
The Kidz Ministry team has an exciting year planned for your kids! When looking at events for this budgeted year, I made a decision to cut the Eggstravanganza event. I
wanted to make sure that every event or activity we invest in for our kids had a mission and was fruitful. I truly believe that while the Egg hunt was fun, it didn’t do anything but create a 30 sec. environment of swooping up as many eggs as possible. So, we will be applying that money into other events that will bring kids into our great services. During Spring Break, we will have a Spring Break Bash for our kidmotion kids in the gym. This will be a great time for the kids to invite friends and hang out with the kidz ministry staff.
We also have many fun services planned for June and July. In June, we will focus on “bring-a-friend” to church. July will once again be “themed Sun-days.” There will be big prizes to give away this summer in kidz church!
In June, we are also going to have a special 3 day camp for our preschoolers only! And there will be a playdate scheduled for our babies and preschool-ers and parents in May.
I am excited about the upcoming kidz ministry events and hope you will watch for sign ups and more details!
Wow! The kid's ministry team is truly the best team! To-gether Everyone Accom-plishes More is such a true statement! I want to extend the biggest thank you to all my teachers, teacher assis-tants, caregivers, check-in workers, door monitors, wor-ship leaders, teen helpers, Sunday school teachers, and other individuals who took up the slack while I was gone on maternity leave. Kidz Ministry
functioned flawlessly while I was away because of the team’s dedication to our children. It excites me to see how well our team works together to accom-plish a common goal—ministering to our children!
A special thanks to Mrs. Debbie Thomas for putting together a fabulous kid’s Christmas pro-gram. All the department lead-ers, I appreciate you!
If you are looking for a place to belong, and want to be a part of a great team, we would like to extend a wel-come to kidz ministry. We are always needing individu-als willing to play a variety of roles.

For the Month of March, we are
continuing our study over the
Fruits of the Spirit.
Sunday, March 7: God measures
a man’s strength by his self-
control. We will look at the verse
Romans 6:12 which reads, “Let not
sin reign in your body.” Spiritual
strength should be more desired
than physical might and ability.
Sunday, March 14: God defends
the longsuffering believer. The
world teaches that we should get
even with those who wrong us.
However, the story of Saul and
David teaches that God takes care
of the Righteous.
Sunday, March 21: Though
Christ was infinitely strong, He
was gentle in His dealings with
man. Ephesians 4:32 says, “Be ye
kind one to another.” Gentleness is
truly a sign of great strength.
Sunday, March 28: God is al-
ways good. Acts 10:38 says that
“Jesus went about doing good.”
Goodness is our nature in Jesus
Christ. We must, as Jesus did,
demonstrate God’s goodness to
others.
BABIES ON BOARD-Blooming in the Son!
In the 10 - 18 mo. room, babies
are learning that Jesus loves them
and their family. The babies will
learn about Jesus riding on the
donkey and the children praising
him on Palm Sunday, March 28.
19 - 23 mo. room, we are learning
that God cares for us and watches
over us during the daytime, night-
time, and wherever we are. Mrs.
Mary will send home the song the
babies are learning in class. The
babies are also learning that God
sent His son Jesus to tell us how
much He loves us.
In the 2 year old class, our ba-
bies are learning about some of
the healing miracles that Jesus
did. Jesus healed the paralytic
whose friends let him down the
roof to Jesus, the lady with the
issue of blood, Bartimeaus' blind
eyes, and Jairus' sick daughter.
The 2 year olds will be learning 1
Peter 2:24, “By Jesus' stripes
we're healed.”
Easter is Sunday, April 4.

Parents of Preschoolers—I
want to encourage you to
take home your child’s color-
ing sheet each Sunday AM
and review the lesson on the
back of the page throughout
the week. This is a great
way to reinforce our teaching
at church!
