‘Kids on the RAMP-age Fashion Show’ brings needy kids

to the fore Delhi based Navjyoti India Foundation and India Vision Foundation organized its annual ‘Kids on

the RAMP-age Fashion Show' where supporters of both the NGOs are invited to walk the ramp

along with about 100 under privileged children. The show was held at Select City Walk in New

Delhi on Nov. 30. Kiran Bedi is the Founder General Secretary and Chairperson for these

associations.

The organizers claim that although this event started out in 2010 as just an opportunity for the

children to showcase their talent, it now acts as a platform to train such children who are not

very actively involved in the classroom activities and also not very socially involved.

These kids walked with icons of the corporate world to draw attention towards their untapped

talent and the need for equal opportunities in

terms of quality education, better standards

of living and vocational training.

Speaking about how this event signified the

social message of both NGOs, Achal Paul,

Founder Trustee and Communication Expert

for both NGOs said: "Navjyoti India

Foundation and India Vision Foundation have

been working to uplift the under-served

communities of the society and enable them to create equal opportunities for themselves in

the world.

Through this event, a platform is being provided to the children who are supported by these

two NGOs through which they can bring out their inner talent and feel confident to face the

world holding their head high.

" The children, in the age group of 5-18 years, walked the ramp in the show, arranged by the

exclusive collections of five designers from India, Thailand and Dubai.

Femina Miss India 2011, Hasleen Kaur, who has been associated with the NGOs for the past

three years, walked the ramp for this edition of the show. The finale sequence saw Kiran

Bedi walk the ramp holding the national flag, while Vande Mataram played in the background.

Besides 50 special invitees, a few hundred people were present at the event. The audience

included all those who support the cause of the NGOs in their own respective capacities,

including the five designers from Play It, Bangkok, Rags Creation, Dubai, Raffles Millennium

International, Delhi, Pearl Academy of Fashion, Delhi and Rank Retails, Delhi.
