Maniwanen Kick Off & Health Need Assesment for HERproject Building on the success of HER Project at PT Ungaran Sari Garments Congol Unit, on 11 August 2016, HERproject Kick Off Meeting is conducted at Ungaran Unit of PT Ungaran Sari Garments. The event is attended by 30 participants from senior and middle management level to gain understanding, preview, and exchange information about HERproject from the team of Yayasan Balita Sehat (Healthy Babies Foundation in Indonesian language), who are Ms. Febri and Ms. Butet. This event is followed by Health Need Assessment conducted by Yayasan Balita Sehat on September 8, 2016, for 105 employees, doctors, nurses and management representatives.

In this third quarter of 2016, there were two major celebrations held for all employees of PT Ungaran Sari Garments. Each event organized by the company own the same purpose, it is to strengthen the sense of kinship among workers and restore new vigor to welcome the new day.

Kick Off & Health Need Assesment for HERproject

Building on the success of HER Project at PT Ungaran Sari Garments – Congol Unit, on 11 August 2016, HERproject Kick Off Meeting is

conducted at Ungaran Unit of PT Ungaran Sari Garments. The event is attended by 30 participants from senior and middle

management level to gain understanding, preview, and exchange information about HERproject from the team of Yayasan Balita

Independence Day Celebration

In accordance with the theme for the 71st

Anniversary of Indonesian Independence Day, which is “Kerja Nyata” (Genuine Work in Indonesian language), PT Ungaran Sari Garments always endeavor to improve employee spirit and performance with various efforts. One of those is to conduct a flag ceremony on 17 August 2016 and engagement program consisting of various competitions and festivities throughout the month of August.

Blood Donation

Observing the World Blood Donor Day on June 14, 2016, PT Ungaran Sari Garments in collaboration with Indonesian Red Cross chapters Semarang District and City of Semarang conducted a blood donation drive in three phases for the period of July to August 2016. This blood donation was joined by 1253 employees, 312 of them were first time donors. Participation of the employees increased nearly by 16%.

Compared with 2013, water consumption/employee/day for 2014 as below: Ungaran: Increased 2.62% l Congol: Decreased 1.35% l

Pringapus: Decreased 13.93% Compared with 2014, water consumption/employee/day for 2015 as below:

Ungaran: Decreased 0.21% l Congol : Decreased 4.84% l Pringapus : Decreased 4.69%

Compared with 2015, water consumption/employee/day for 2016 as below: Ungaran: Increased 8.66% l Congol: Decreased 8.68% l

Pringapus: Decreased 1.13%

Water Discharge: Our main operation is garment manufacturing. We do not use water for production process. We use water for Domestic/Toilet purposes

and canteen for cooking and gardening.

Waste Generation : Our waste are mainly solid waste generate from cutting waste and from office. We work together with nearest community to reuse the waste into economical household part likes mat, table cloth, doll, cloth

ornament, pillow, bolsters.

Compared with 2013, solid waste/pcs garment for 2014 as below: Ungaran: Increased 7.21% l Congol: Increased 17.98% l

Pringapus: Decreased 2.83% Compared with 2014, solid waste/pcs garment for 2015 as below:

Ungaran: Increased 8.39% l Congol: Increased 0.33% l Pringapus: Increased 4.61%

Compared with 2015, solid waste/pcs garmen for 2016 as below: Ungaran: Increased 6.03% l Congol: Decreased 2.25% l

Pringapus: Decreased 2.68%

The use of electricity and diesel fuel per garment in PT Ungaran Sari Garments decreased 13.83% from 2012 baseline to September 2016

The gas emision spent per garment in PT Ungaran Sari Garments decreased 10.76% from 2012 baseline to September 2016

The largest percentage reduction in emission gas spending is Congol Unit with 24.02%, Ungaran with 13.68% and Pringapus with 7.07%

The largest percentage reduction in the use of electricity and diesel fuel is in Congol 20.12%, Ungaran with 10.46% and Pringapus Unit with 4.96%

Local Community Care

Community Child Care

Work agenda for the Peer Educators apart from providing health education for employees at Congol unit, also includes support for local communities around the site. One activity conducted to provide this support is the visit to a local child care center ‘Ngudi Lestari’ Pos Pelayanan Terpadu or Posyandu (Integrated Service Post in Indonesian language) approximately 4 kilometers from Congol unit, on August 5, 2016.

‘Ngudi Lestari’ Integrated Service Post serves 37 toddlers every month by providing health monitoring services such as weight measuring, height measuring, immunization, health consultation and provision of nutritious food for toddlers. On the occasion, the Peer Educators provided nutritious food consisting of bananas, boiled eggs and pudding for the toddlers. The Peer Educators also shared some tips on ensuring good health for young children to improve the knowledge of their mothers.

Foster Home Donation

On 29 September 2016, Pringapus unit of PT Ungaran Sari Garments visited ‘Zamzam Al-Hazim’ Foster Home located at Kalongan Village, 13 kilometers from the factory. The foster home provides accommodation for 25 children and is in the process of building a larger lodging and mosque. PT Ungaran Sari Garments represented by employee and Union representatives provided donation to the value of 100 USD for the building construction. The Chairman of ‘Zamzam Al-Hazim’ Foster Home Administration, Mr. Mahyum Ali, accepted the donation.

Contribution for Road Construction

Pringapus unit of PT Ungaran Sari Garments contributed for construction of road and drainage at Kalikidang Village on September 2016. This area is approximately 3 kilometers away from Pringapus unit and is home for many employees. Due to rainy season, it is often the case that roads at Kalikidang are waterlogged, which causes damage to the road. In order to help solve the problem, PT Ungaran Sari Garments provided support in the form of construction material, 8 sacks of cement. It was received by Mr. Yehni and Mr. Jono who are sitting in the road construction committee and are local community figures.
