How OneApp Works

One Application• Check a box for your child to stay in his / her

current school or apply to up to 8 different schools, including non-public schools participating in the Louisiana Scholarship Program (see page 6).

• Students who are applying to different schools will be able to list up to 8 schools in order of preference.

• Clear and transparent priorities determine which students have priority for each school.

• The process is NOT “first-come, first-served.” All applications will be considered at the same time.

• Students who are applying to different schools will receive one match, to their highest choice school that has available seats.

OneApp ensures that every child in our city has equal access to an excellent education.

• The Recovery School District does not consider a student’s disability when assigning students to schools. Students with disabilities and English language learners may apply and be matched to any participating school.

• The Orleans Parish School Board (OPSB) reserves the right to assign a student with disabilities to a school site other than those school choices selected by the parent/legal guardian. The school assignment shall take into account parent choice and shall be consistent with the parent’s and child’s rights under applicable federal and state law and regulations pertaining to students with disabilities as well as consistent with OPSB’s rights and obligations under those legal mandates.

• Some non-public schools participating in the Louisiana Scholarship Program may offer additional special education services. Please check with the school(s) of your choice before listing it on your child’s application to ensure it is able to meet your child’s needs.
